To Alborzi
by Anonymous68479657 (not verified) on Wed Apr 08, 2009 11:07 AM PDTThere is a BIG difference, Alborzi. HUGE, which you fail to see here That difference is that in a country like U.S., if you're an officer of the peace and pull a stunt like that to over-react in an arrest and use excessive force, you or someone needs to answer for it. What shocks whomever commented on this clip is that the cop or whatever the hell his so-called title is just went nuts with the beating. What's funny is that nobody was making an arrest. They were just using the baton on someone - for a couple of minutes. So if you and I see that and we have some idea how things are run in Iran we question ourselves as to why he is going so nuts in the first place, and secondly if he's like that in public, what would he be like if he got the guy alone back in the station. That's what's shocking the rest of us.
OK one last answer
by Alborzi (not verified) on Wed Apr 08, 2009 10:21 AM PDTI would be repeating myself to say "Gooz be shaghigheh che rabti dare", but it fits the issue so good. I promise I will not use it for a while, the issues you mentioned MAY be valid, but thats IRI ideology, there are examples of it (like the hangings, or adultery trials) if you do not like it, there are several human rights group, that are appropriate. This clip shows a police action against some fans, it happens all the time and every place, it has nothing to do with their religion, heck even Shah's goons used to beat back the crowds, anyway just remember "Gooze be Shaghighe che rabti dareh", you will understand better. o-o
Only a loser would care?
by Mehrban on Wed Apr 08, 2009 07:48 AM PDTPolice brutality, sang sari, eye gouging, hand cutting, ya rosary ya to sari, prison torture, public hangings, no freedom of speech, 35% bikari, 35% inflation, blocking of internet, sanitizing of universities. blatant coruption, prostitution, addiction........... is this not a pressure cooker? Does it only take a loser to care?
Alborzi, I hope you are smarter than that.
I don't care who governs Iran but I care how.
Get lost
by Alborzi (not verified) on Wed Apr 08, 2009 06:13 AM PDTIts not at all unusual to have crowd control issues. I remember many years ago in San Fransisco this guy got shot at a Rolling Stone concert by their security
team. Many of the times its actually an over reaction on the police, here in the USA we have countless example of it, hell that guy got beaten up in UCLA, so what to jump from that to denounce the regime, only a loser can find that reasonable. o-o
To Dariush
by Anonymous6849 (not verified) on Wed Apr 08, 2009 06:07 AM PDTThanks for clearing that up, professor! Where would we be without the wisdome of sages. Atleast, read the comments well before a respond (talk about stereotypes!). The comments were about the cop, not the spectator.
Disgraceful
by Korosh (not verified) on Wed Apr 08, 2009 12:14 AM PDTIf they treat people in public like that then imagine what they do to the innocent prisoners.
Just a bunch of cowards and those who support them here are worse than them!

You guys are wrong
by dariush Homayoon (not verified) on Tue Apr 07, 2009 07:07 PM PDTI am not sure where you live but take a trip to any bars on the weekend, specially college (younger generations) or stadiums and see how the police, angry people and losers attack one another and treat one another. You guys are bunch of hypocrites that only see glass half empty on your own people and half full of the uncivilized and angry part of the Westerners, and there are many of them all over, not including the KKK type. Jesus, give these people some brain and me some money. Amen

Pressure-cooker
by Anonymous59884 (not verified) on Tue Apr 07, 2009 12:32 PM PDTThat whole country is like a pressure-cooker! That cop was going after that guy like he wanted his blood. A simple clip, but the nuances are pretty telling.
