Surgeon tops in California for cardiac cases

TARZANA (Los Angeles Daily News) - Patients of a local heart surgeon had the highest survival rates among those of any other cardiac specialist in California, according to a comprehensive report released this week.

The report, compiled under a state mandate to increase transparency, measured patient outcome and performance for all 284 cardiac surgeons statewide. In general, it found that mortality rates had fallen from previous years, but survival rates varied widely depending on the surgeon.

Dr. Mohammad A. Gharavi, chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at Providence Tarzana Medical Center, was the top performer - losing just one patient in 303 heart surgeries he performed in the 2005-06 period studied by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.

By comparison, another doctor who lost one patient operated on only seven total and another who operated on 325 lost 15 in the same period, the study found>>>

the underage execution as well as the rescinding of the originally granted appeal trial.  but her beauty and talent are being used  a pawn by IRI to prove just how far they will go. Rosie, I had used this Iranian Judicial Power public affairs site to send a comment on the Darbi case(Farsi text). I was careful not to cite Darabi's beauty and talent as reasons for stay of execution. Rather the issue I presented was the injustice of child executions.

We can start by saving one life now. Delara's. International human rights campaigns which have created a groundswell have worked before for people n prison, whether on Death Row or not. Very proud! Is there any effort to study Dr. Gharavi's techniques? Obviously he's onto something demonstrably superior to standard (average)practice.
