"ethnicly" ?

You might find it wise to take some of the same advice you are trying to dispense when it comes to spelling.

The correct spelling is E-T-H-N-I-C-A-L-L-Y.

It is spelled with an "a".

It appears that the pistachio nut symbol has been deleted.

Qajars?  Nope, not related to them.  The Qajars were ethnicly Azerbaijanis.  I am ethnicly Persian.

Aa' Mehdi :)

by Farah Rusta on

Is that all? The only part of your drivel that was absolutely correct, was this: "Obviously your parents did not raise either a polite or an educated woman," You are right on target. But then you immediately contradict yourself by asking me to refrain from personal insults as it is unbecoming!! Unbecoming? If I am not raised as a polite and proper woman, then being rude to people cannot be unbecomig! It is indeed very be-coming (LOL).

There are many more contradictions in your drivel including this:"Mossadegh used to bully the Shah at every opportunity ..." and a few lines later: "it was Dr. Mossadegh who respected the Shah " (more LOL). This must have been the only case in history where someone (the Shah) was respectfully bullied!!

Listen Aa'Mehdi. If this is all you had to offer in terms of evidence then I give up. I shall stick it up in my reading room and keep looking at it every time I am constipated (I do my essential reading in the John).

You didn't make it this time Mehdi dear but try harder next time -quoting from your favorite movie's ending: "Tomorrow is Another Day!"

Short of a Naval blocade...

by American Dream on

Short of a naval blocade economic sanctions won't work.  Even with a naval blocade which would prevent oil exports and all other exports there would have to be a land invasion as well as aerial bombings.  NATO and all of Iran's neighbors will have to back up the west.  America has troops in Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan and TurkmanistanIt will be a fast war and American tanks can roll down the streets of Tehran after 2 weeks of the war have begun.  The best thing that the west can do is install a provisional government with a Iranian President who is 2nd or 3rd generation American whose ancestors immigrated from Iran.  This individual must have American military training and have fought in Iraq or Afghanistan as an American soldier or marine.  If this plan is put into place maybe the west will win in their battle again the "axis of evil".

The comments stand on their own.

You on the other hand can't read persian and use terms that are unheard of in Iran's 70 million population.

There is reality and then there in fantasy.

You write about drugs so much you must be the one who is using them.

I made one comment in passing and you just keep on cutting and pasting my comment.

The comment I made is a fact, there are a lot of Iranian Muslim Shias that smoke opium.  And the same dudes also drink like fish.

I know muslim shia Iranians living in America who get pissed drunk all year long and then show up and beat themselves silly on Ashura in the holy Shia Iranian month of Muharram.  That is a fact.

I have been on this site since it began.  You are the new person here.  If you don't like what you read go somewhere else.  No one is forcing you to stay here.

I have a lot of supporters.  And I will be here for as long as iranian.com exists.

I am a permanent fixture here at Iranian.com

I have several sacks of fan mail sent to me as e-mails.

One Iranian wrote, "You know Iranian culture so well, inside and out, a well spoken Iranian historian and Persian sociologist.".

You can go on and on about your junk, no one will listen to you.  You bring nothing new to the debate.

It is high time for you to leave.

Or as they say in Farsi,

I hope someone can read that for you.  I know you can't read Persian.

American D's views

I  have suggested some one my fellows to ignore your absurd comments due to the fact that most of the time you are on drugs..... but you find the way to sneak around cowardly find closed subject and wickedly make some comment in hope that person don't see it. You beloved US will not have a future then what you are going to do .. We have all seen your idiotic and harebrained ideas about the Iranians and how the US should attack and occupy IRAN.... why are you wasting everybody's time..... But again what do i expect from you ..... here is some of your views.

All,  you should read American D's views are about  Iranian and the Islamic Fascist Republic. I feel petty for the guy his biggest dream was to become an American. I am compelled to share some of his view with you , may be you can have benevolence on this guy,   This is his view of Iranian people , first he call himself an American, not even an Iranian American... well okay may be he doesn’t know the difference. Now please read..... Quote, I believe as an American, the best form of government in Iran is a democratic republic like the United States.  What types of social freedoms should a democratic republic of Iran have?  The same freedoms we see in Amsterdam. I know a lot of Iranians who are predominantly Shia Muslims and they drink like fish.  They drink so much alcohol.  And a lot of them smoke that opium stuff.  Many of the men are womanizers and their wives also carry on adulerous relationships.  unquote and here is American dreams final touch and his mighty opinion in regards to Mullah's rule in IRAN. You will be the judge. quote from American Dream Do I see the theocracy going away in Iran? No.  It will evolve with time.  The more pressure by Iranians the more the theocracy will change so they can stay in power.  The Iranian theocracy is willing to make pork and alcohol "Halal" if they can stay in power.  God knows the Revolutionary Guards help introduce satellite dishes into Iran and take in money for it. That being said, things will take time to change.   Unquote, rest my case.

Incoherence Par Excellence

by Ahura on

This is an amazing account of the denials, distortions, and falsifications of historical facts by one of the Shah’s confidant and staunch supporters.  This man is a perfect proof for the fall of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi’s autocracy that paved the way for the theocracy of mullahs. Strangely enough Mr. Ardeshir Zahedi is simultaneously Shaholahi (denying the 1953 Coup d’état) and Hezbollahi (advocating business as usual with IRI and no sanctions.) He is no dummy indeed, and is protecting Shah’s clans financial and trade interests with IRI.

American Dream

Freedom5

by American Dream on

You don't know anything about Iranian/Persian history.  You come on this site and post inaccurate information.  Mossadegh nationalized the oil industry.  Interesting thing is that Ardeshir Zahedi, the Shah's son in law wants direct dialog between the West and Iran.  He also supports Iran's nuclear energy program.  On these 2 points he sides with the Islamic Republic of Iran.  Since 1979, a lot of Iranian monarchists that were in the Shah's camp have made peace with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The most famous recent guy was Mr. Ansari, Farah Diba's cousin and former accountant of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Reza Pahlavi.

See the following clip:

//irannegah.com/Video.aspx?id=1047

Even in this clip Mr. Zahedi says the Shah made mistakes.

Freedom5, you are the only one on this site, and maybe the only one in this world that believes the crap you are writing.

No one in Iran's 70 million says "dorood", they say salaam.  That dorood term in used in the United States by people who can't read persian and don't have a grasp of the persian language.

It is high time you get educated and go read some books.  Until then you are lost.

mehdi2009

You also don't read many books or Unclassified CIA Reports

by mehdi2009 on

Ms. Farah Rusta,

Obviously your parents did not raise either a polite or an educated woman, and also please refrain from using personal offensive language as that is very unbecoming.

Here is your Proof:

According to the CIA report recently in 2001 about Iran's 1953 Coup and documented in the Book "Invisible Goverment" (Published in 1964) During early 1950s Shah of Iran was a known around the world as Suitecase Monarch, and that is due to the fact that any time Crap hit the fan he took off from the country. Otherwise his Twin sister Princess Ashraf on the behest of CIA and especially its Director, Alan Wales Dulles, would not go to and tell him TO GROW SOME BALLS and act like a man. Dr. Mossadegh used to bully the Shah at every opportunity, as he like a great deal of People at the time also knew him to be a weak person who did not like confrontations. This was not any of his own fault, as he was educated in Europe and had lived there all of his early years, due to his father's (Reza Shah) desire for him to be an educated Monarch who was going to lead a Modern State, and hence was not used to bare kinucle politics of his home land.

If anybody respected the other person it was Dr. Mossadegh who respected the Shah as he was a well brought up Patrician and a CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHIST (The words that are foreign to you and your ilk). He had this problem with the Shah that he was too easily accepting of the terms of the contracts which Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (BP later on)was forcing upon Iran (which was signed basically at Gun Point 5 decades earlier), and therefore had to take drastic actions to stop them from using their agents in the parliament andhad to close it down to curb their actions(All the Shah's Men 2004 & Invisible Government 1964).

I am not Anti Monarchy Ms. Farah Rusta, but a Pro Iranian individual which is more than I can say for you, and it is also a good idea to read a book or two once in a blue moon to open your closed mind. You wanted proof, well you can stick this proof in your dining Room table and read it every day.

However, I have a suspicious feeling that your mind has already been made up, and no amount of evidence will change your opinion. To which I say: "Frankly My dear I don't give a Damn".

Salutations to all the True Sons and Daughters of Iran.

Loose canon

by Farah Rusta on

Dear Freedom5

Mr Zahedi is turning into a loose canon. He is firing in all directions including at himself. It must be due to old age and senility I suppose. BBC should have interviewed the key figures from both sides of the debate and not only finding an octagenarian as Zadedi who, despite his passion for the subject, cannot think or argue along a straight and connected line.

I never placed my arguments on the basis of what Zahedi is talking about. I wish they would have talked to, say, Dr Nahavandi (from the old guards camp) and Drs Matini or Mirfetros from the academic angle. Instead as you have correctly pointed out they have selected a soft target like Zahedi in an attempt to further discredit the monarchist side of the argument. Sadly for the BBC, thay sent the wrong man for the job. Enayat Fani is among the most incompetent and ill-prepared tv journalists. The end result is:

Zadehi:0 BBC:0.

Shah wanted to get rid of the old man since he (Mossadegh) illegally closed the Parliament and the Senate. Out of respect for Mossadegh he tolerated him until he stepped over the line and consolidated the power by forcing the Shah out of the country. If you have any evidence to support your claim show it.

What a load of Revisionist Nonesense Crap

by mehdi2009 on

My Dear Darius Kadivar,

First let me tell you that I always like your news posting (specifically the Arts, Cinema, Music and Cultute as we share mostly the same tatste), and respect your comments (although don't always agree with them). However, I had to write this article to clear some of the comments that were meade.

Mr. Zahedi remarks makes absolutely no sense what so ever. He claims in the interview that the CIA and the academia in US and UK took the position that the 1953 Coup in Iran was all their own covert operation after they had read his convoluted book.Well obviously Mr. Zahedi does not read too many books which does not agree with his point of view. As in the book "Invisible Government" which was published in 1964 which chronicles all of the covert operations of United States intelligence services up to that time demonstrates in great detail about the "Operation Ajax" and its Master Mind, CIA operative in the Middle East at the time, Kermit "Kim" Roosevelt. For better or worse it also outlines how Kermit Roosevelt had one Million Dollars at his disposal to use as he saw fit in order to bring the Operation Ajax to a successful end. A couple other good books to read on the subject are "Dulles" published in 1978 and "All The Shah's Men" published in 2004 which go into greater detail about the whole operation and how it was carried out.A great Deal people such as the US Secretary of State, "John Foster Dulles", saw the world as black and white just like the ramblings of Mr. Zahedi, about how we would have had a domino effect in the Middle East if the Soviets took over the country in 1953. However, that was and still is very short sighted, as in March 1953 Stalin had finally (and not to late mind you) had died, and the Soviet leadership was in disarray, and the members of Politburo were jockeying for position, and there were labor Riots in the East Germany and Poland (Yes there Riots way before Solidarity Movement), which had the Soviet Red Army Troops, tanks and commanders well occupied in Eastern Europe. However, in the Cold War mind set of the time, The Brits were pissed off that Dr. Mossadegh had thrown them out of the country, and even President Eisenhower was reluctantly convinced to give the go ahead with the Covert Operation against the Legal Government of Iran.On your point that Shah had the Legal Right as the Head of State to dismiss the Prime Minister, However the illegality comes into play when it was dictated by a Foreign Covert agent meddling in the affairs of a sovereign Country.I would say one last thing, and it is that Dr. Mossadegh as a Nationalist, and uncorrupt individual was right in his Principals as he would have it no other way. The problem that he had was with his strategy and his lack of flexibility in dealing with the people that had strong disagreements with him. Mr. Zahedi is just full of Crap, and the majority of people will not buy his nonsensical ramblings.Salutations to all the sons and daughters of Iran.

Third, if you had listened to any of Dr Fatemi's, Mossadegh's foreign minister and the face of foreign diplomacy, you would have settled for Yazdi, Ghotb-zadeh and even Mottaki.

Dr Fatemi's foul-mouthing antics in his public speeches as well as in diplomatic circles was an ugly stain on the Jebhe Melli colorful (!) history.

Dude ..again and again , you are just making assumptions. You are so wrong all the way through and you actually did prove my point.  I have to admit at least you did one thing right as i told you to do...  Google the name of Fatemeh and Sakineh..... so that's how you had decided to change your name from Sakineh to.... you can change your name but you can not change the way you think....go and read some books....... By the way when doing so read more carefully then make comment and don't jump on the gun,......  Sakineh, open you eyes... i repeat again....I referred to THE RED LION AND SUN SOCIETY   NOT the flag. That is something that you need to read. Find out what it was and why it was making IRAN different than the west and Arabs.... read , read and read then talk.

Dude I wish i was your daddy’s age then i would have put you across my lap and teach you a lesson...........  if you are that young then where are you getting all these nonsense. Where were you when the children back then getting breakfast for free.... How do you explain Iran's 8 nuclear reactors building almost half a century ago... Now your beloved Islamic Republic stuck on building one which would probably explode cause it is made in Russia......  or the whole idea that the country was on its way to become the second Japan in the middle east..... South Korea 30 years ago was not that far from IRAN .....look where they are now. Grow up and look ahead and don't look back to Idiot Mosadegh or Zahedi etc ............ Please don't patronize me by giving slogans ...  Think about  what you can do for Iran now  if you have a bit of Iranian pride left in you... You and people like you who did not research and join the riot 30 years ago just because they blame every body for their own failure in life brought the IR to power. Some because of grudge and pure jealousy and the other....... It was a fashion back then to be against the Shah , people like you pour in to the street 30 years ago to get their 100$ share of the oil , free hydro and bus ..... as your leader Khomainie Dajal promised .......Khak bar saretan..... and I bet you now probably wash dishes in a restaurant.

Dude you deserve it.

Down with the Islamic republic and people who established it 30 years ago and  still supporting it.
