Abdullah Entezam-Saltaneh
by mahmoudg on Wed Aug 26, 2009 10:19 AM PDTshe mentions Entezam's name (NIOC chairman), a man the likes of whom had the Shah listened to, might have saved his crown and his country. more about Entezam can be read at www.ghaffaris.com
Thank you MassoudA

This Also Proves..
by masoudA on Wed Aug 26, 2009 07:43 AM PDTThat Ghotbi and NIRT were in fact pushing for the revolution. She is reporting 3 deaths resulting from protests - yet calls it "Unconfirmed"!!!!! If it was not confirmed what the hell are you doing reporting it?
BTW - try this link if the original clip does not work.

The date of this clip
by pedramm on Wed Aug 26, 2009 12:45 AM PDTThe date of this broadcast is December 27th 1978 which is 27th of Day 1357. That is 11 days after Dr. Shahpour Bakhtiar became the Prime Minister and 15 days before Khomeini returned to Iran. This can be verified by looking up the date of former Algerian president's death (Houari Boumedienne). The news of his death is reported halfway thru the clip.During his time in office Bakhtiar lifted censorship, freed all political prisoners, asked Shah to leave the country and tried to work with the revolutionaries to control the situation -but his liberal government lasted only 37 days. This newscast offers a rare glimpse into those historic days. Thank you Suzie for sharing it with us.
This is proof that Shah's NIRT was more truthful in reporting...
by farrad02 on Tue Aug 25, 2009 09:50 PM PDT1) This is proof that Shah's NIRT at the height of the unrest and revolution against the very existence of Monarchy was more truthful in reporting the events to the rest of the world than the Islamic Republic is today under much less threatening circumstances (I guess Mullahs have learned good lessons from the history!) Just listen to or watch any of IRIB's international broadcasting and you'll get nothing like the reports on this NIRT broadcast from 1978-79 era!
2) XreXes who is criticizing this news cast for it's elementary quality is apparently not considering the fact that this is a 30-year-old news broadcast production! Do you know anything about broadcast technology and its progress in 30 years?!
This is it?
by XerXes on Tue Aug 25, 2009 01:53 PM PDTWhat a low class news channel. this is just like LA TV. Now we know where LA TV gets its technology from.
For foreign consumption
by Farah Rusta on Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:46 AM PDT:This was one of Reza Ghotbi's (Shabanu's cousin) projects to give the Iranian state TV and radio a democratic face lift in the eye of the expat community of Tehran. Sadly for Mr Ghotbi and Co. the revolution that he wanted to champion brushed him and his family out of the country. NIRT was yet another haunt for the chic revolutionary soosools of the upper class category.
