Bright future
by statira on Thu Dec 10, 2009 02:23 PM PSTThese bright youth are going to transform Iran in the near future. Iran belongs to these people, not a bunch of gibon and antar and fossiles like Antarinjad and Ali yedasti and Janati.
Wow...

by yolanda on Thu Dec 10, 2009 12:25 PM PSTI like the way she recited her poem. She had a great stage presence! It is very touching and compassionate. It is from her heart! This is the best poetry recitation I ever heard in my life! No wonder she got a standing ovation! I hope someone will translate the poem into English and post it on you-tube, so I can add this poem to my collection.
Great job! Thank you!

Payandeh IRAN & IRANIANS
I'm glad this poem got featured. I think higher
by Hovakhshatare on Thu Dec 10, 2009 10:59 AM PSTeditorial standards should honor it. It deserves to be read and heard as it is a great poem. I had put the posting site's full link in respect to copy rights so the Adamak site's work is respected. Somehow only the video appears here, or in my blog of hours before your featuring. The correct link is //www.mardomak.biz/videos/47453/
Also, 'murdered students' dedication in the title is not accurate representation. While it can be inferred in broader context of the poem, it is a presumption in your title. The context and depth of the poem is wider and deeper and parallels 'yare dabestani' in essense and more emphatically covers the personal honor and existential question on meaning of 'love of nation'. At core this is a revolutionary poem of very high caliber.
YaraThu Dec 10, 2009 09:27 AM PST

About Khatami
by Abarmard on Thu Dec 10, 2009 07:58 AM PSTI don't agree that Khatami did not do enough. I believe that Mr. Khatami brought an environment that encouraged self reliant for people based leadership. His emphasis was based on denying "one" individual as a solution and relying on people for fighting for their rights.
Based on what Khatami believed, he stood strong from the beginning to the end . If people expected more, the problem is not Khatami.
His greatest gift to Iranians were the roots of democratic mind set, against the traditional Iranian trait of "bot-parasti". He took his pictures off the walls and let all know that he doesn't agree with "bot Parasti". He encouraged all to follow Law and fight to make Law apply to all equally. I agree with that philosophy. Laws, good or bad, once are applied equally can help society toward civility. Khatami is the master of the civility in our society and internationally respected also.
I believe history will judge him well.
Excellent work from Hilla Sedighi, this poem will stay with us
by Anahid Hojjati on Thu Dec 10, 2009 07:55 AM PSTThis is one of the best poems I have read in a while."Hilla Sedighi" 's poetry reminds me of poems I grew up with such as works of Forough Farrokhzad, Siavash Kasraii, and Akhavan-Sales. I will look forward to reading and hearing more of her gorgeous poetry.
Very powerful

Khatami source of all miseries
by mannya2001 on Thu Dec 10, 2009 07:13 AM PSTformer prez. khatami had a golden opportunity after his election to take the country in any which way he wanted. however, he was extremely gutless( compare to karroubi). he continued to cave in, he was more worried about which robe color to wear. he was articulate and well spoken yet short on substance. even in post election demonstrations, he continues to shy away from true confrontation.
I will never forget khatami's mishandling of people's votes. he is responsible for the current situation. he gave the sepah and baseej enough time to organize and consolidate their powers. he should have taken on the hardliners when he h hiad the opportunity, when they were weak.
he was more concerned about winning the nobel prize than anything truly meaningful. and he got neither.
right after his election, khamenie was in such a weak position that i remeber khamenie stating in two friday prayers that he supported the pres. even though he wanted nateq nouri to win.
moreover, he was so confused. he was proposing the dialogue of civilizations at a time when Iran was the only country in the world refusing to talk to another nation, mainly US.
Time and time again, the hardliners blocked the reformers, kept them weak, kept them away from Parliament yet pres khatami was so weak. he could not come out and say that Khamenie was responsible.
In hindsight, Montazeri was right. He wrote a letter to Khatami 6 months after his election saying if they are blocking your agenda, then resign. he should have listened! now the radicals are well organized and have bribed the country-side people to be on their side with the windfall from oil revenues in the past 6 years.
thanks khatami for nothing and stop smiling...

Another reason why IRI opponents still misguided
by mannya2001 on Thu Dec 10, 2009 06:15 AM PSTOk, so the reason you should be supporting change in Iran is because people are thirsty for freedom. Obviously by posting the vid up in the top left corner, disllusioned enemies of IRI still re-enforce the suspiscion that they really are after exposing and letting loose Iranian hotties and not necessarily after freedom of thought and press.
Enough Said
