Kind of cute

Growing up in Peech Shemroon area, we had lots of these pigeons flying around. The best part was watching our neighborhood owl nail one in mid air each afternoon for dinner.

I hate kabootar

by Anonymous- (not verified) on

Some call them flying rats. When I was a kid, I used to have chickens as pets, which I loved and even had nicknames for. The kaftars used to steal food which I had thrown for my chickens, and I hated them. I had to do kish-kish and scatter them from time to time. Very annoying.

Kabootars seem to be everywhere making a mess, eating crap.

Jahanshah

I watched these clips a couple of times, and they had a very peaceful effect on me, too. I know that since boyhood, Iranian men have a love and fascination with kaftar, even if most of them never get engaged in keeping them. I'm not sure why it touched the "peaceful" cord in me, though.

To be sure, seeing a young man simply love his birds was an extreme contrast to the news and opinions we hear these days. Simple, beautiful, and peaceful.

Wow!

What a great sight! Seems like people were forced out of their homes and land for a justified reason! All the women and children, dead and/or lying in hospital, are worth it! Look, Iranian pigeons are flying in Israel... Iranian Zionists, take pride and savor the moment!!!
