I agree with Benyamin's views. The current rifts among IRI seniors are not only due to the inner power struggles, but more consequently people's struggles which target more and more the whole regime. In any totalitarian regime, when the end approaches, a part of ruling elite pretends to side with the people.

Benyamin

I disagree with Reza Aslan!!!

Few weeks before the elections I made a comment here about the real power struggle in Iran.  I stated that this elections is a fight between two heavy weights! Rafsanjani Vs Khameneie.

Today, I predict that the situation is getting out of hand and people are demanding something greater than what they have demanded so far. It is true that people are becoming fearless and they will get even bolder. The biggest mistake Khameneie made was the use of force to  the point that caused killings and that  "never" sits well with Iranians!!!

Rafsanjani can only do so much or has so much control, he is like a captain that is aproaching a perfect storm.

I believe as Rafsanjani tries to make mends between his gang and Khmaeneie`s, but if he is not successful then he is right about what he said "ma hame zarar kardeem=we all lost in this election". I believe he has identified a greater danger and that a storm will take the entires ship don`t matter if reformist or conservatives. You have to bear in mind that reformists also believe in Islamic rules and "velayat e fagheeh" but most people that are getting killed or beaten or else simply don`t believe in that sytem altogether.

Neda Agha Soltan didn`t even vote and she believed Mousavi is another form of Islamist, my point is; people that don`t believe in Islamic system are far greater than those that do including reformists.

Iran is revolting against those that stole god.
