LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Pop icon Michael Jackson died Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest, the entertainment website TMZ.com reported. The website reported that Jackson, 50, suffered a heart attack just after 12:00 pm (1900 GMT) local time and paramedics were unable to revive him. Jackson's manager Tohme E. Tohme was not immediately available for comment when contacted by AFP. Officials at UCLA Medical Center where Jackson was treated also could not be reached for comment. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales would not confirm Jackson's identity but said paramedics went to an address corresponding to the star's home at 12:21 pm (1921 GMT) and the person was taken to UCLA Medical Center.

I do (care for Farrah)
by Farah Rusta on Fri Jun 26, 2009 07:05 AM PDTAfter all Farrah and I shared the same name (well almost). I was deeply moved by Ryan O'Neals' outpouring of emotions on Farrah's death. His relationship was somehow reminiscent of and closely similar to that of O'Neal's charchter (Oliver) in Love Storey, experienced. She was so popular in the Iran of the seventies because of her name, which was the same as Shabanu's.
May God bless both their souls, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has confirmed his conversion to Islam, according to reports in the Middle East.
//www.religionnewsblog.com/17555/michael-jackson-islam
The Arab-Israeli newspaper Panorama claims Jackson has announced the move and revealed plans to move to Bahrain, where he has purchased property.
The singer’s Muslim brother Jermaine Friday claimed the “Thriller” hitmaker had taken interest in the religion since Jermaine converted in 1989, and had been considering converting following his acquittal on child abuse charges in 2005.
Jermaine said, “When I came back from Mecca I got him a lot of books and he asked me lots of things about my religion and I told him that it’s peaceful and beautiful.
“He read everything and he was proud of me that I found something that would give me inner strength and peace.
“I think it is most probable that Michael will convert to Islam.
“He could do so much, just like I am trying to do. Michael and I and the word of God, we could do so much.”
Call me paranoid....

Why should it be okay for Iran to headline every major media station for a few innocent deaths, while every day over 30 (mostly innocent) people are still dying in Iraq EVERY day?
What's going on in Iran is super important to everyone here, and nobody is going to forget about it because of a Michael Jackson headline.

Dear Mr. Javid
by Farnoosh on Thu Jun 25, 2009 07:49 PM PDTI do understand Michael Jackson's iconic position in the music world, so on any ordinary day I would never write this comment here. But, Sir, news about Michael Jackson's death has already usurped the spotlight on the struggles of Iranian people inside Iran in the American media. The helpless people of Iran risk their lives to send their information and video outside of Iran so that it is reflected in international media, for they have no other hope of being heard.
While all major networks are busy talking about Michael Jackson and forgetting about Iranian youth, why would Michael Jackson take the place of information and sentiments about Iranian protestors on Iranian.com? I do believe you to be a man who loves and respects Iranians, but in my humble opinion it is poor taste to feature Michael Jackson here at this time.

Why the nice comments?
by Anonymousity (not verified) on Thu Jun 25, 2009 07:26 PM PDTMichael Jackson was a freakish human being and most likely a pedophile, so why are people leaving nice comments about him?
Personally, I'm disgusted that when I turn on the news to find out what's happening in Iran, instead I find wall-to-wall coverage of the death of a has-been.
I liked him........
by Souri on Thu Jun 25, 2009 06:01 PM PDTHe finished like Elvis, both had died years before their actual death arrive! Sad.

by Arash_1970 on Thu Jun 25, 2009 05:48 PM PDTAs a young boy growing up in Mashhad ,I remember one Norooz trip to Tehran when we bought Michael Jackson's thriller in Cassette form. You had to go to this fancy bookstore in Tehran and order the tape. The guy would make you a copy that you could then pick up a few days later.A bootleg copy of course.
Watching his videos were the greatest thrill ,everybody wanted to be him and dance like him. Some girls in Tehran would wear only one glove to be cool just like him.He was the "Elvis" of my childhood.A great talent and of course a very excentric man.
Thank you for the music and memories Sir.
Thank you Michael and Thank you Irandokht for creating this forum
