Where is Human dignity?
by Nkminea on Thu Jun 18, 2009 10:14 PM PDTIt is sad to see that a deceased dignity is violated these days so easily on the ground and in cyberspace. This even for someone like me who sees "dead people" (literally) everyday is unbearable! For some this is convincing evidence. The picture made its point. Now if the discussion/dispute over the differences must go on, the picture (the deceased) should be removed from the arena.
This is it. I think we are at the point of no return!

The better way is to go to Iran and convince yourself, of course it might hurt your vojdan. I did not know that the love to IRI can blind people so severely.

by aaminian on Thu Jun 18, 2009 01:28 PM PDTDo you know what a "ghame" is?! It's some sort of sword; fat, short, heavy and very sharp (I believe it's arabic in origin). A heavy-handed man can easily sever body parts with ease with a ghame. I suspect that's what happened here; I have heard several reports during the past few days that the basiji thugs are using these to slaughter people.

Although I doubt I would
by shared sentiments (not verified) on Thu Jun 18, 2009 09:56 AM PDTAlthough I doubt I would have put it so harshly, I and many others share the sentiments of Kaveh. Sometimes it takes a tragedy to see the evil from within. But let us continue to support our brave men and women within Iran, especially as we do so from the seats of freedom. We owe them honesty, not lies. We owe them support, not treachery. We owe them honor, not empty words.

by hamsade ghadimi on Thu Jun 18, 2009 06:46 AM PDTit's a great idea to document to regime's atrocities. once they feel safe, many people will come forth to give the names of loved ones who've been brutalized by this regime.
we should also document the name and crimes of the perpetrators such as this one:

dear brother
by hamsade ghadimi on Wed Jun 17, 2009 10:14 PM PDTdear brother, beloved son of Iran,
only when you were dead would you be safe, from the tyrannical ones—the ones who had been there long enough to have maimed, mutilated, maybe even buried you—who keep watch over the others. you’re in a better place, and we will never forget who you are, or what you stood for. because when we think we’ve got nothing left, we think of your pure soul.

by Azarin Sadegh on Wed Jun 17, 2009 09:31 PM PDTEven if I didn't dare looking at this picture for long time, but I feel stabbed. As if my heart is stolen from me and crushed. I wish my eyes could pour blood instead of tears...And I wish we all could grow new hearts made of passion and compassion, instead of helplessness and despair...
My deepest condolences to the brave youth of Iran for this loss.

by bikar (not verified) on Wed Jun 17, 2009 09:03 PM PDTAccording to the Cyrus News Agency, Tuesday morning 16 senior members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps were arrested. "These commanders have been in contact with members of the Iranian army to join the people's movement," CNA reports. "Three of the commanders are veterans of Iran-Iraq war. They have been moved to an undisclosed location in East Tehran." This report has not been confirmed by other sources. If true, it shows that the regime is losing the loyalty of some members of its control appartus, which is necessary if the opposition has any chance of achieving fundamental change. Mass rallies can easily be broken up and revolutions crushed, as we saw at Tiananmen Square in 1989. But if members of the armed forces, police and especially Revolutionary Guards decided to switch sides, then one can begin speaking of revolution
