Yes you are missing
by Anonymous1235 (not verified) on Sat Jun 13, 2009 03:08 AM PDTYes you are missing something. If you defy the authorities in Iran you risk imprisonment, torture and rape. What's the biggest worry on your life? If you hold hands with a girl in public you can go to prison, if you speak against the government you will be tortured and murdered. You are missing something. The rapper girl in this video is taking her life in her hands and shows bravery that is beyond your comprehension.
Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll ...
by Assal_B on Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:27 AM PDTWhy the negative connotation with "sex, drugs, and rock and roll"?
Looking at American history, it was youth like the ones in this documentary who were the foundation of the Anti-Vietnam War movement, for example.
It takes bravery to stand up in blatant disregard for laws of your country in an effort to bring about change.
I am proud to be from the same generation and even if in the US, I hope my support is enough to help them bring about the change they wish to see in Iran.
Small steps
by John on Fri Jun 12, 2009 08:42 AM PDTRebellion comes in many forms, and in a society where real rebellion might land you in Evin Prison, one might be wise to exhibit rebellion with a touch of common sense.
The important part is the thoughts and mindset that will lead Iranians to not accept their current lot in life. We see it with the crowds on the street during the election campaign. Look back at history and you will see that small events trigger larger ones until an unstoppable force is created. That's what is beginning in Iran.
If you watch the entire program you will see more than sex, drugs and alcohol; you will see many people who have decided not to hide what they think; you will see young women who have decided that they want equal rights and opportunities.
