Translation: "These images seen from the surveillance cameras show a very common situation with our overpopulated highways. It is normal for us to see dogs run over. In the video, we can see this dog fighting for his life because he was run over by the vehicle. What is very touching is to see the very heroic actions of this other dog who is trying to pull him to the side of the highway."

by MiNeum71 on Sun Mar 29, 2009 07:54 AM PDTYou all are great evidences to the sick Iranian culture and silly Iranian men. I´m sorry, UN, Amnesty International and all other NGOs were established only to bash Iran, God created the whole world only to bash Iran. Why didn´t I defend this nice culture and kind society of Iran? Where are my manners?
I´m wrong, you´re right,
you poor paranoid Iranian craps, allright?

by MiNeum71 on Sat Mar 28, 2009 02:48 PM PDTGo and seek psychotherapeutic help and MiNeum71 < basic IQ: Personal attacks, THIS is Iranian. Thank you very much for the proof. Difficult to stick to facts?
These are the words of a great Iranian woman:
What is unique to Iranian discussions is, when the debaters arrive
at a plateau, they proceed to have what I call a 'face-off'. They turn
an intellectual argument into a 'personal' one as if they bear a
vendetta. So they go for below the belt attacks. That's unfortunate. It
is possible to argue and not get personal and, in the process, maintain
credibility.
Also typical Iranian, so typical Iranian, sooo typical Iranian, blaming others (UN) and circumstances (western world's liberalism, media's negative publicity) for own shortcomings.
Spineless accusations about how Iranian men treat their mothers, sisters or wives? I wish you would be Iranian women being married with one of those men. And neither United Nations nor Amnesty International lie (maybe you think both hate Iran, Great Britain und USA have established them just to hurt Iranians).
You are the reason why I´m ashamed of the bullshit Iranian culture. I want to get rid of you. I want a new, honest, civilised Iran.

by Anonymous.... (not verified) on Sat Mar 28, 2009 01:24 PM PDTIf you objectively evaluate and track the cause and effect of the western world's liberalism blasted at it's impressionable masses and audience like you, you'll find greater insight to the cause and reaction of the theocracy's conservatism in Iran.
You are also very inexperienced about foreign policy and political gamesmanship that governments deploy for the sake of fueling their own perosnal motives to establish or maintain global superamacy. Some of which inlcude the so called neutral "world establishments" that are suppose to protect human rights and the global rule of law. Where the hell was your UN and it's stats when in less than 25 years over millions have been slaughterd in that region (not to mention Darfur) for no reason other than simple neglect or the flow of oil money to the pockets of a few criminal elite familities in the west??
Do you even realize where most of these human rights organizations annual operting budget comes from and who their leadership is ultimately held accountable to?
Gage the lay of the land before you jump on the bandwagon of expoliting young couples issues, (which your world sanctions and rehotoric spark to begin with) for the self serving benefit of thoes who inspire you to make spineless accusations about how Iranian men treat their mothers, sisters or wives.
Get a clue before you start your barking, and don't let the media's negative publicity of your race make you hate youreslf and your kind so much that you have to restort to other criminal to justify your position.

I have not attempted to engage with you, because of the nature of your communications; they are violently attention seeking and, I am sorry, hugely ignorant, to the point that it is pointless arguing against them!
I just mention one thing and do not intend to continue this discussion. I have made my point in my previous post to AN. Where did you get your figures?!!! You seem to offer quotes. I would be very interested in the source and methodology of your research.
You seem to have a very poor knowledge and impoverished background in relation to Iran. Undoubtedly there are ills in Iranian culture just as there are in other cultures and societies, but your 'evidence', and your attitude betrays a significant blow and shortfall elsewhere. I am sorry to be frank. Go and seek psychotherapeutic help.
Dear "Mehrnaz",
by MiNeum71 on Sat Mar 28, 2009 12:32 PM PDTYes, I was the one, who wrote: Iranian culture is bullshit, and I´m convinced of it. Comparing cultural diseases in Iran with few terrible cases in Europe is stupid. Besides: evading the issue this is sooo typical Iranian.
Iran has one of most embarrissing performances in treatment of woman, children, animals, criminals and minorities. Evidence?.
Women abuse rates (2007, UN): 81% of Iranian wives have already faced domestic violence (slapped, beaten, choked, attacked with Knives) in the first year of marriage, 35% of them wanted to commit suicide, 9% of them tried it but failed, 38% of the Iranian women have faced sexual violence, 19,3% of pregnants were beaten.
Do you still have the nerve to talk about my mindless dribbling?
Child abuse rates (2007, UN): USA 1,23% p.a., Scandinavia 0,32% p.a., Iran 16,75% p.a.
Do you still have the nerve to call me an opportunist?
Death sentence rate (2007, AI): Iran 4,40 per million, USA 0,14 p.m., EU 0,00
Do you still have the nerve to say my comments are utterly cynical?
Culture is the the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution, organization or group. It´s not possible to say We do this and that but this is not our culture. These this and that build up the culture.
Women abuse (dominated, beaten, marital raped), child abuse (mistreated), minority abuse (harrased), criminal abuse (lashed, stoned and killed), animal abuse (maltreaded and slayed) are the attitudes, values, goals and practices of the qualified majority of the Iranians (in and outside of Iran), and they characterize the Iranian institutions, organizations and groups. This is the Iranian culture, very old but not improved.
Forget the few urban-educated Iranians, the rest is bee-savad and vah-shee.
An improved society treats their women, children, minorites, criminals and animals well and with respect. Iranian society and culture: Backward and a bad joke.
But at least Iran´s society is improving. More and more women can read and write, that makes the society less religious and makes birth control possible, Iran´s birthrate was 1.689 (2008), the infant mortality is falling, from 44,17 (2003) to 35.78 (2009 est.); this is a great reality. And the women are the key to success.
I am an European man of Iranian descent and I´m ashamed of these Iranian men. I will not be put off by people attempting to cut my voice, because in the end we only can change for the better if we take to heart: Self-knowledge is the first step toward self-improvement.

by Mehrnaz (not verified) on Sat Mar 28, 2009 09:01 AM PDTAccording to the Highway Code you do not stop because an animal has been hit, by stopping you endanger yourself and other drivers who are coming at a fast speed. If fact if an animal is in your way, you do not swerve the car and certainly only stop if there is no other vehicle behind you where there might be a possibility of an accident. In fast traffic, which was the case in this video this would not have been possible. I share you compassion though, it is salutary but not practical in this case. You would only stop in this scenario, if on balance, not stopping would endanger yourself or other cars.
What I found the saddest, is the response of those opportunists who relate any piece of cruelty, horribleness (like this video) and inhumanity to Iran - its government and culture of its people - whilst any good news, anything portraying progress, joy and creativity is rubbished and denigrated. I have dogs and other animals myself and am hugely concerned about animal welfare. I often come across terrible cases of abuse and cruelty to animals in Europe where I live, and ... many cases of absence of concern and cruelty towards children, old people amongst other things. There is another posting about a man jumping off a roof in Tehran which is causing the same mindless dribbling, as if people do not commit suicide in democratic affluent societies and do not suffer abuse and pain right in front of the unconcerned eyes of other 'civilised' beings!! I find these statements by these people utterly cynical or stupid to say the least.
