“God will then send down One of My descendants, One sprung from My family, Who will fill the earth with equity and justice, even as it hath been filled with injustice and tyranny.” And, again: “A day shall be witnessed by My people whereon there will have remained of Islam naught but a name, and of the Qur’án naught but a mere appearance. “O people of the Qur’án,” Bahá’u’lláh, addressing the combined forces of Sunni and Shi’ih Islam, significantly affirms, “Verily, the Prophet of God, Muhammad, sheddeth tears at the sight of your cruelty. Ye have assuredly followed your evil and corrupt desires, and turned away your face from the light of guidance. Erelong will ye witness the result of your deeds; for the Lord, My God, lieth in wait and is watchful of your behavior... O concourse of Muslim divines! By your deeds the exalted station of the people hath been abased, the standard of Islam hath been reversed, and its mighty throne hath fallen.”

Cultural Corruption (to Anahid)

Anahid, Cultural Revolution/Corruption, deprived many of us (including myself a non-Muslim, non-Bahaii). Ironically the Cultural Corruption even got those who promoted it as well, people such as Dr. Soroush (please see //iranian.com/main/2009/mar/cultural-revo... ). .... and in my humble opinion Cultural Revolution inflicted the most damage on Islam itself (Islam in Iran).

It is about Time!

The mullahs and their goons shame me and these brave young Iranians make me proud to be an Iranian. It is easy for me to type this note of gratitude, realizing fully that what they are doing and what they stand for represent the nobility of humanity so deeply rooted in our ancient culture. May God bless and protect them. And thank you JJ for being, in effect, a part of this brave and caring generation.

Since 1979...

Since 1979, as part of a government plan to eradicate the Baha’i community in, the Islamic Republic of Iran has blocked the 300,000-member Baha’i community from higher education, refusing young Baha’is entry into universities and colleges.

I am one of them!

My hope

I hope this system of repression ends in democracy one day.

To be proud of Iran

Everyday, little glimpses of light, show that darkness will not prevail. The courage of these young Iranians must be applauded and passed on to others. As the poet says, With a small lantern, I will go forward to fight darkness.

Step in the Right direction

It is the 21st Century - and we have to be hopefull a group in Iran has come together fighting for the most obvious of rights.   Shame on us.   The Islamic Republic from it's foundational and phylosophical core MUST go. 

PS - I understand those who say IRI can only be reemoved through a gradual process - I don't agree with it - but at least I understand.   But what worries me are those who always seek solutions which only involves ACTIONS by others.

that this is only election-time sweetness. Any other time, and it wouldn't have happened.

It is sad that desicrimination happens in Iran at a large scale.

here is a recent interview with one of the Students,  and the efforts of a group of them to take their complaint to the top.

 One never ceases to be amazed by their fearless courage for puttting thier lives in danger of arrest , torture and imprisonment.

Khanjani is even threatened by "Rahbar" for pressing the isssue.

Let's hope he will not be harmed , despite the VEILED THREAT made by "rahbar":

Honor to the students!

What an honor these students have made for themselves by coming out in support of what is clearly right, access to higher education for the Baha'is of Iran! Thank you for showing the world true Iranian heart.

The world will never stop hoping for a free, progressive Iran. Today becasue of these young people coming together, it appears to be within reach.

A very hopeful sign

This is quite an incredible development: Non-Bahai students gathering to defend the right of Bahais to enter universities. Still a very long way to go to open universities to ALL students, but just the fact that the issue is discussed in a public gathering inside Iran is a huge step forward.
