Bloomberg: Britain has agreed to loan the 2,500-year-old Cyrus Cylinder to Iran for three months, Iran’s state television reported. The British Museum wouldn’t confirm the report. “We can confirm that representatives from the British Museum are in Tehran at the moment, but until we have spoken to them we can’t confirm anything further,” Esme Wilson, a press assistant for the museum, wrote in an e-mail today. Iran has accused the museum of slowness on a promise to loan the 539-530 B.C. cylinder, dating back to the reign of Cyrus the Great. It is inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform and is described as the world’s earliest charter of human rights.

به گزارش خبرنگار اجتماعي فارس، با حضور جان كرتيس، سرپرست بخش خاورميانه موزه بريتانيا و نماينده تام‌الاختيار اين موزه در ايران و برگزاري جلسه‌اي با حميد بقايي، معاون رئيس‌جمهوري و رئيس سازمان ميراث فرهنگي و گردشگري توافقاتي براي انتقال منشور كوروش به ايران انجام شد. اين جلسه كه روز گذشته در محل سازمان ميراث فرهنگي و گردشگري برگزار شد، زمان توافقي براي انتقال اين منشور به ايران به صورت امانت دي‌ماه سال 1388(اواسط ژانويه) تعيين شد. در اين جلسه مدير بخش امانات موزه بريتانيا و مدير موزه ملي ايران نيز حضور داشتند. در جلسه روز گذشته اين هيئت تمام توافقات براي نحوه ورود و انجام مراحل بيمه منشور كوروش انجام شد. زمان نمايش منشور كوروش در ايران احتمالاً 4 ماه خواهد بود. منشور كوروش در محل موزه ملي ايران براي نمايش عمومي قرار داده مي‌شود. <<<
