Horror!
by ghalam-doon on Fri Nov 13, 2009 05:10 AM PSTIt's like a horror movie. Every car is out there to get you. Pedestrians in Iran have no rights. Last time that I was in Tehran (after 28 years) I noticed all traffic lights in the center of city are flashing red, which means the cars are not supposed to stop even at the intersections! It's absolutely horrific. I couldn't dare crossing streets in Tehran. Amazingly other major cities in Iran are not too bad.

by yolanda on Thu Nov 12, 2009 10:34 PM PSTIt is amazing that the guy was walking on zebra-crossing, but no vehicles stopped for him anyway....It is like watching a stunt by the pedestrian and also by the drivers & motor-cyclists. The guy has incredible composure! According to Press TV, during Nowruz holiday, 420 people died of traffic accidents and 100,000 Iranians died in traffic accidents in 6 years:

After 27 years
by Cost-of-Progress on Thu Nov 12, 2009 07:55 PM PSTI visited Iran for the first time after 27 years in 2003. Aside from the insane driving style, crossing the street was a major, major horror for me. Often times I would refuse to cross the river of death (as I called it). The video here truly depicts the ordeal although the person crossing the street is a pro, and I was not! Needless to say, I did not drive a single meter when I was there.
