ايزديان؛ کهن ترين آيين در هزاره سوم

ايزديان از بازماندگان تمدن باستانی بين النهرين و همراه با اقوام ايرانی و هندوايرانی به اين سرزمين قدم گذاشتند. دين ايزدی يا آنطور که در برخي منابع «يزيدي» ذکر شده، قديمی ترين دين در ميان اقوام کرد است.

ايزديان گاهي به اشتباه و يا به سبب تفاسير غلط  و
عامدانه، «شيطان پرست» و يا «پيروان يزيد بن معاويه» معرفي مي شوند اما همه پيروان اين آيين، هر دو «برچسب» را انکار کرده و حتي اتهام مربوط به پيروي از يزيد بن معاويه را ناشي از تبليغات دوران صفوي مي دانند.

ایزدیان یکتاپرستند و «ملک طاووس» نماد مقدس آنها به شمار می رود که از دیدگاه آنان، برترین ِ ملائک است.

ایزدیان به قدرت اسرار آمیز الهی معتقدند و می گویند خداوند خود را به اشکال مختلف انسانی نشان می دهد که هر کدام مسئولیت بخشی از امور دنیا را برعهده می
گیرند.

برخی از این افراد و نشانه های الهی از جمله شیخ هادی است، که مقبره اش در پرستشگاه ایزدیان در روستای لالش در کردستان عراق جاي دارد، و یا ملک شیخ حسن، ملک شیخ
فخرالدین، شیخ شمس، پیرحسن ممان و ملک نصرالدین.

Malak Ta'us bless the Yezidis

There is a Kurdish Yezidi here who is a dear friend of mine, and whose grandfather was well-placed in the hierarchy of the creed some fifty years ago. We occasionally get together to exchange notes on various things. The Yezidi cosmology that he has laid out for me is incredibly complex and is far more intricate and involved than what most people know, or what the scholars have reported. Basically the various Heptad of  Archangels are understood to be the hypostases of the Ultimate Itself. As such the whole God/Satan division that mainstream religions subscribe to is a little silly and childish from their point of view. Besides their own lineage of holy figures, they also hold a reverent place for certain Sufis whose perspective on the bigger picture is very similar to their own, i.e. Hallaj in particular.

The Yezidis are basically one of the many pre-Islamic mystery religions that has survived through the centuries, and it has survived precisely by adopting some of the Islamic cultural garb. Recently, since the fall of Saddam, they have become the target of Sunni fundamentalist Islamist insurgents hiding out in the mountains of northern Iraq who massacred dozens of them in a suicide car bombing earlier this year.
