Dear Friends,
By now you probably know that I have moved to Portland Oregon to join the Child Foundation as their Executive Manager.
This is a "dream-job" for me. It has allowed me to merge my experience with my lifelong aspiration to help people. They have culminated in a position where I can make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our society - children.
Ever since I began my duties at Child Foundation, I have not stopped letting everyone know how energized I am about this organization and how wonderful I feel about doing what I do here everyday. It turns out that even CNN has recognized my storybook, cross-country adventure to attain this position. They featured me in an article related to re-inventing a career path amid a recession. Below, is the link to the article and their interview with me.
I realize how happy you all must be for me, as well. That is why, in return, I want to invite you to join me in supporting these children in need. It is a wonderful feeling to help make a difference in someone's life. As someone who manages this tight ship, I can assure you that every bit of your generous help makes a very significant difference in the lives of these needy kids.
So please consider sponsoring a child right now at www.childfoundation.org, or by following the link below. It takes just $20 per month to help a child in poverty eat a meal, buy a set of un-torn clothes, stay in school, and be able to fight against the odds to reach their dreams.
I know the economy has made many of us re-think our expenditures and tighten our budgets; but just imagine how much worse it is for an orphan who wants to study but can't go to school because they need to work and support a family with a single illiterate parent who is out of work. These people can not make ends meet. They require food, medicine and medical care in many cases, that are well beyond their reach. These are children who barely hang on to the little food and sparse shelter they have, and hope for a better tomorrow.
Since you know me personally, you will not consider this a sales pitch, rather a call to join me in a good cause.
Above is the link where you can review and chose the child/ren you want to help. Shortly after you sign up to sponsor a child or more, his/her picture(s) and bio will be sent to you so you can get to know them and be in contact with them if you choose. Should you want to meet your child in person, we can help arrange for your travel there.
This is certainly a thrill beyond any that words or wealth can match. Please join me in helping these children.
Thank you
Masoud Modarres
PS. Please go ahead and share my story with anyone who you wish

by OmidKarimi on Sat Oct 31, 2009 03:52 PM PDTbtw, did the FBI ever give an official appology for raiding a charity organization gathering money for poor children in the third world? I think they should, formally and in a written form. Bastards.

by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Oct 30, 2009 09:24 AM PDTCongratulations to you and the Child Foundation, which resumed normal operations soon after a FBI raid on its office in Portland last July. To date the FBI has made no charges nor spoken a word about its action. I'm confident it will stay that way because the foundation is a genuine charity that has made a tremendous difference in the lives of many underprivileged children, especially in Iran. More power to you!
Nice!
