The Sun: A UFO streaks through the sky in this astonishing video of the Iranians test firing a controversial missile. The video shows the Shahab-3 rocket soaring into the sky. But after 38 seconds a nearby cloud is mysteriously torn in two by a flying object travelling at speed. Nick Pope, a respected former UFO analyst for the UK Ministry of Defence, examined the remarkable footage. He hinted that whatever ripped through the cloud was not man made >>>

Kavoshgaran
by statira on Sat Oct 10, 2009 12:45 PM PDTI remember just a few epiosodes of Kavoshgaran. My mom really liked the show because of Tony curtis. My uncles loved the show for it's music. UFO and mission impossible also were really popular at the time.
I wonder if anybody heard of Lanser( it was a cowboy series) and Tosan( was about a horse). I vaguely remember Tosan, I was just about 5or 6 yr old at the time.We didn't have TV and we had to go to Isfahan in my uncle's house to see Tosan. Again, I asked everybody here about Tosan and Lanser and nobody had heard about those series.

by Hamid Taghavi on Thu Oct 08, 2009 12:01 PM PDTI vaguely remember The Persuaders but I have a vivid recollection of its opening theme. A while ago while looking for it I learned the composer was a certain John Barry who also scored the Bond theme. Then it made sense why that score was so intriguing. It captured the mysterious and dark atmosphere of the cold war era. If you listen carefully, in between all the sequencers and synthesized sounds you can make out something that resembles the organic sound of a middle eastern string instrument, perhaps santur. Also, driving through Monte Carlo's windy roads once, I was willing to make a bet I had seen those same roads in that show's opening scenes.

by Hamid Taghavi on Thu Oct 08, 2009 11:42 AM PDTAccording to an American friend's dad the show was shown in the US at the time, but might not have been in its entirety. A few years ago I caught reruns of some episodes (on the Syfy channel maybe? can't remember). It was a British show that ran for one season only. It had a token role for an American, in the lead role no less, perhaps to be able to sell the show to an American network. After one year it got canceled. They reused the sets on another sci fi show, Space 1999, which was even campier. The reruns that I saw had remarkably good plots, even though their ideas of how advanced the world would be in 1980 or 1999 were less than prophetic. 40 years later, not only has man not gone back to the moon, much less other planets, it might be a few more decades before it happens again.
If you'd like to relive those childhood memories of that show you still can. It's on DVD.

Your Welcome statira Jaan
by Darius Kadivar on Thu Oct 08, 2009 09:14 AM PDTThat was a Great Show wasn't it.
I wouldn't miss it either. I even had a Lunch Box with the characters.
Not surprised the Americans don't know this show. They even missed The Persuaders aka Kavoshgaran with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. This show is a Cult show here in France and was shown everywhere except the US for some strange reason.
take care,
DK
Thanks Darius for putting
by statira on Thu Oct 08, 2009 09:00 AM PDTThanks Darius for putting that video. I remember I used to see the TV show when I was in elemenatry school. We loved the show. I asked everybody at work about the movie, but no one( even Americans) heard about it.

Khar got it right!

sonic boom...
by Kabob Torki on Wed Oct 07, 2009 08:35 PM PDTSonic boom is commonly used to refer to the shocks caused by the supersonic flight of an aircraft. Sonic booms generate enormous amounts of sound energy, sounding much like an explosion. Now this sonic boom is also displacement of air and that’s how you can hear the sonic sound; when the air is displaced or moved at fast speeds I assume it can generate a cutting effect in the surrounding space, hence the cut in the cloud or smoke.

by OmidLonLa on Wed Oct 07, 2009 04:16 PM PDTRather than a holy gooze from above, it seems more likely that this is little more than the shadow of the missile's vapour trail appearing on the cloud.

The clouds suddenly split
by masoudA on Wed Oct 07, 2009 02:15 PM PDTand because of the air tirbulances caused by the high speed rocket - Or it's just emam zaman watching from the above. But wait a minute.....
Where?
by OmidKarimi on Wed Oct 07, 2009 01:40 PM PDTI cant see any UFO, just a split in the cloud.. but no UFO.. The UFO reports from the air defence ministry has flourished the past years. I remember even 2 farsnews articles so far that state that they have shot down UFO's, one of the Persian gulf, the other one over an Iranian desert.
