American Dream

yAghi and Neda ye Iran e Azad

by American Dream on

yAghi:  O.K., maybe you may be right.  There is a possiblity that Hana Makhmalbaf truly wants change.  For your sake, I will wait and see what happens.

Neda ye Iran e Azad:  What happened in 1988?  The end of the Iran-Iraq war?  Is that what your talking about.  O.K., maybe you are right.  Maybe, Hana is doing something positive.  For your sake, I will wait and see what happens.

As for me, the American Dream, I have been fighting for the freedom of Iran for more than 37 years.  Most people on this site know me and my struggle to free Iran and make it a real democratic republic like America with the social freedoms of the city of Amsterdam.  That being said, I wish you all the best.

As the great poet Fedowsi said, "Agar Sar be Sar tan be koshtan daheem...az aan beh ke keshvar be doshman daheem".  And the struggle continues.

Neda ye Iran e Azad

And you continue what you have not done in the past 30 years!

by Neda ye Iran e Azad on

 To American Dream

I appreciate Hana's work. She is doing some thing that very few people tried to do. She is showing what people in Iran went through in the past few months

What you people did? You just sat back and complained about this and that. Why is she wearing scarf? What is wrong with you people? Don't you really have any other thing to think about? Why Iran is still in the same shit? because we, the what so called the IRANIAN people are just trying to find things to argue! What did you do for your name? for your country? Our people have been killed, been tortured, not only in the past few months. Did you really forget what happened in 1988? What are you guys thinking? Instead of supporting a voice, you are trying to kill it

I support what Hana is doing, and I support her green hijab. I will wear green scarf when I see it is neccessary and when I see it is something I can do for my real IRANIAN people

JJ I think you were a bit predisposed to overstatement. But that's OK. If you could curve down the bigotry in your site you could feel much better about moral fiber of you and me and all iranian.com visitors combined. Bigotry can be considered illegal you know.

Comparing an elite figure of green in the comfort of protective fence of international media to frustrated chased out bunch is a bit of stretch.

I still like Masih better. She seems more genuine.

Moral fiber test

by Farah Rusta on

Now that JJ has lent his weight (and there is plenty of it) behind Hanna, let us see if Ms Makhmalbaf will pass the test of moral fiber as claimed by JJ. For instance would she be prepared to show that all of the candidates, including and particularly Mousavi have their hands in blood - case in point the mass executions of the political prisoners of the 1980's - when he was the prime minister under Khamenei?Or is her morality only limited to the events of June this year?

Hana Makhmalbaf has more

by vildemose on

Hana Makhmalbaf has more courage and moral fiber than you and me and all iranian.com visitors combined. What have YOU done lately for the cause of freedom?

I second that notion. She is articulate, pure, compassionate and above all she is fearless unlike some of us who need spinal surgery.

The Big Joke of an American Dreamer

by yAghi on

Dear American D.. I am laughing, but not for the makhalbaf for your childish comments. Any comment you have posted in this site sofar on any issue, it has been negative. Remember we are all Iranian, regardless of hejab or anything else. Isn't the freedom represents an American dream which you claim to be one. Try to be positive for a second and do not insult yourself and your brave countrymen and women in the street by dreaming 2500 years of Islamic Republic. Stay being an American Dream ifyou cannot even dream freedom for your country or write us more jokes so we can laugh again. Do youhave the guts of Hana Makhalbaf to go on a public TV and criticize the socalled rahbar.

 With Kindest Regards

Makhmalbaf is a national treasure and this movie will do great. What do you propose, American bombs?

American Dream

pedramm, it is a joke, a big one

by American Dream on

"Hana and her optional hejab are a sign of a free Iran.. a new country
in which people can choose to dress as they wish.  Her green hejab is a
sign of her solidarity with the people of Iran."

Iran is a dictatorship, the election was rigged.  How can Hana Makhmalbaf's optional hijab bring freedom to Iran?  Even if the dress code was relaxed in Iran one is still living in a dictatorship.  It is the dictatorship that must be abolished.

"Her father was a true fanatic in his younger years.. but people
change.. they see, read and learn the truth and channel their passion
in the right direction.  Mohsen Makhmalbaf was quite effective in
bringing world's attention to what was happening in Iran as the events
were unfolding in Tehran and other major cities."

Yes, it was her father that supported the 444 day hostage crisis that made Iran look bad and tarnished Iran's name for over 30 years.  Iran used to be a cool country.  People like Makhmalbaf make Iran look bad.

Even if he changed, he should change enough to demand the end of the theocratic dictatorship.

Iran must and will become a democratic republic with the social freedoms of Amsterdam.

pedramm

Thank you Hana

by pedramm on

I applause your efforts Hana. Thank you for not letting the flame die ... I got goose-bumps when she said the movie is being distributed for free to honor the green movement.

This is NOT a joke... Hana and her optional hejab are a sign of a free Iran.. a new country in which people can choose to dress as they wish.  Her green hejab is a sign of her solidarity with the people of Iran.

Her father was a true fanatic in his younger years.. but people change.. they see, read and learn the truth and channel their passion in the right direction.  Mohsen Makhmalbaf was quite effective in bringing world's attention to what was happening in Iran as the events were unfolding in Tehran and other major cities.

I respect both Mohsen & Hana Makhmalbaf for being true Iranian patriots.

I can not wait to see her film.

American Dream

The Green Movement, Makhmalbaf and the big joke

by American Dream on

In the end all these people are in it together.  Ms. Makhmalbaf is a staunch Islamicist wearing that green hijab.  She is so revolutionary.  This reform movement will just give the Islamic Republic 2500 more years of being in power.  What a joke.  Unfortunately, no one is laughing.
