AFP: France on Wednesday led a walkout of a dozen delegations, including the United States, to protest a fiery speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the UN General Assembly. "It is disappointing that Mr Ahmadinejad has once again chosen to espouse hateful, offensive and anti-Semitic rhetoric," Mark Kornblau, spokesman to the US mission to the United Nations, said in a statement. Delegations from Argentina, Australia, Britain, Costa Rica, Denmark, France Germany, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand and the United States left the room as Ahmadinejad began to rail against Israel, a European source said.

A Joyous Day For Humanity
by IB on Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:57 AM PDTPot calling the kettle black. How dare Ahmadinejad speak about humanity. The man who tortures, kills, rapes his own people because he wants to remain in power.
This man deserves no respect because of his own actions. His speech is meaningless and hollow. So, why should the delegates give this man their time. We can't allow Ahmadinejad to make mokery of the UN.
Some of you like Mehdi are such Israel haters that you are willing to sacrific your own people. I wonder if you are so much for giving people second, third and multiple chances, do you share the same view about murders on death row or sex offenders. Do you believe they deserve multiple chances and should be released and become your neighbor and work at your kids' school?
A sad day for UN
by MRX1 on Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:20 AM PDT'It is indeed a sad day for all humanity when we find that the last hope
for peace among Mankind has been taken over by oppressors of the world.'
Correct! and what bigger oppressor these days than gang of low life's ruling Iran, Cuba, North Korea and the rest of these despots around the world.
And Of course we know Isreal is responsbile for all the oppression in the world!
A sad day for UN
by Mehdi on Thu Sep 24, 2009 08:37 AM PDTIf the UN is not willing to bring nations together; if the UN is under the control of a few bullies like US, Israel, etc, then what is the point of the UN at all? Why not let Israel rule the world openly? Why Israel is covertly running the world? Are they ashamed of what they are doing? Do they need a cover and a pretence? People should object to their governments leaving the last resort for peace among humanity and siding with expansionist and Imperialist regimes. It is indeed a sad day for all humanity when we find that the last hope for peace among Mankind has been taken over by oppressors of the world.

Two for all and all for two :-)
by Arash_1970 on Thu Sep 24, 2009 03:37 AM PDTThank you for acknowledging my comment.I am glad we're on the same page.At the age of 39 ,it's still hard for me to come into grasp with the concept of politics. People's own interst come first. I am glad Sarkozy is in our side and I applaude him.I;ll never forget the times I watched Bakhtiar on Tf1 news ...his perfect French. His reasoning ,His strong arguments.Reza Pahlavi makes us proud the same way when he engages Elkabache ,etc...
Arash_1970 Jaan Absolument ;0)
by Darius Kadivar on Thu Sep 24, 2009 02:49 AM PDTAbsolutely I totally agree with you.
However this is an Opportunity for the Iranian Democrats in general and it should not be missed. Today Sarkozy is Staunchly on our side ( for his own political interests also) and the Green Movement at large. So such a Political Statement on his behalf is a Great Boost for us all.
Politics is always about Opportunity. However when it plays in our favor, we need to seize it.
Time is on Our Side !
And as Bakhtiar ( whose first wife was French and children including his son was a French Police Officer) said:

Times seem to have changed a Paris....
by Arash_1970 on Thu Sep 24, 2009 02:36 AM PDTGlad to see that things have changed since the times of Francois Mitterand ,Chirac and Charles Pasquoi. We will never forget how the French sent Vahid Gorji home in exchange for the release of the hostages in Lebanon.I love France ,I lived there for over 3 yrs and loved the culture but I trust the French politicians as far as I can throw them.No one cares about us but ousrselves. I say "Vive La France" also but for Michel Sardou , for the poetry of Prevert , for the Cinema of Godard...certainly not for the French politicians.
ps : This is nothing personal against you Mr Kadivar.I am a fan :-)
BRAVO SARKO ! ;0)
by Darius Kadivar on Thu Sep 24, 2009 01:19 AM PDTVIVE SARKOZY: The French President reiterated his admiration for the Iranian People and said that if the Iranian Regime thinks he would exchange the Assassin of Chapour Bakhtiar for an Innocent women whose Only crime was to love Iranian culture and the great Persian civilization, then they are Truly Out of their Minds.
