Hanoi, Vietnam (Asian Volleyball)– The Iranian women's team made an incredible progress by entering the top eight of the 15th Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship as in a display somewhere near their best, they wedged out Australia 3-1 sets 25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 25-16 on Monday. Iran took on Australia to vie for the second place in Pool A, which would give them a chance to play in the last eight teams. Both teams had the similar record of one win against one loss. The beginning of the first set turned out to be a hard-fought battle when both sides came up with the similar standard. Australia initially led 18-17, thanks to Rachaelle Brammer's aggressive spikes at the post >>>

by Mehdi on Wed Sep 09, 2009 08:21 AM PDTNothing drives an oppressive regime down into apathy more than people "playing by the rules" and yet becoming triumphant! No need for "regime change" just keep on winning!
Embarrassing
by MRX1 on Wed Sep 09, 2009 07:19 AM PDTWhat sane society dresses up it;s athletes with these ridiculous out fits. Are girls suppose to cover themselves up from other girls now too. Really sad what Iran has become under mullah's rule…

by gol-dust on Tue Sep 08, 2009 09:22 PM PDTAustralia is a very strong team. No wonder the mollahs are keeping them under the wrap! The persian blood runs deep inside of them despite the Arab's influence on the surface! You go girls! You show them how brave our iranian women are!
But, I prefer the opponents better for socializing. Sorry, boys wanna have fun!
