Sanjabi & Co. Stabbed him in the back
by RJ on Sat Jun 26, 2010 04:54 PM PDTBakhtiar was true to his words. He did as he preached. We should listen to all his speeches and interviews before and after the revolution. He was a patriot who loved his country and his compatriots. He warned but no one was prepared to listen. Some of his Jebheh Melli colleagues such as Sanjabi stabbed him in the back by sabotaging his efforts. Now Sanjabi & Co. proved to be wrong but at the expense of may be establishment of democratic system in Iran. Yadash Gerami Baad.

Bakhtiar made many mistakes and he lost because of them
by Q on Sun Apr 04, 2010 08:58 PM PDTHe should have never accepted Shah's offer. When his own Jebhe Melli disowned him (hardly "Islamists") that tainted his reputation for ever.
He also insulted the people of Iran by offering Khomeini a "vatican in Qom". People make up all kinds of stories now, but then, this was a great insult to Khomeini and his followers. It showed that Bakhtiar was really out of touch with the people. And predictably he united them against the last remaining symbol of the corrupt Monarchy: himself.
His last mistake was when he failed to back the Army in their very reasonable suggestion to not interfere. At that point, he made himself look like a dictator wannabe without the popular support. But it was already too late. He failed to truly understand the revolution and as a result was easily outmanouvered by someone who did.
I guess it says something about our Martyr loving culture that Bakhtiar is practically worshipped by anti-regime exiles these days.

by benross on Sun Apr 04, 2010 11:31 AM PDTWe have to correct the historic wrong, exactly where we made the historic mistake. This is not 'one' solution. It's the only solution. And everybody knows it. That's why all the attempts to change the subject look so pathetic. It's because we have to deal with our historic guilt and our lack of courage to do so pops up, in each and every attempt that we make to hide it.
بختیار
KharSun Apr 04, 2010 10:45 AM PDT
I remember it vividly
by mahmoudg on Sun Apr 04, 2010 09:52 AM PDTAs a 17 year old then, even I kew what would a bunch of backward Mullahs do to us. That was the only rally I partcipated in during that dreaded revolution. Alas, it was too little too late. heif. now 30 years later and hundreds of years behind times we have to reclaim our homeland by force.
