Mr. Anonymouse

Are we driven by blood and gore only?

You mean to tell us that daily misery and hardship is not worth your attention any longer?

Iran as a whole has become boring. Everyone knows what's goin on

by Anonymouse on

There is nothing new to report from Iran, the most breaking news is a new nukular facility in Qom.  The struggle goes on and when Iran becomes democracic, in a generarion or two, or sooner I don't know, they have made Iran so bring already that it will take a generation or two to be able to just live normal and have fun without being afraid of morality police and crap like that.

Just like it's hard for a pimp out there it's hard to make a living in Iran.  It's just hard.

Everything is sacred.

Good Lesson on How to Cash in your 15 Minutes

by eroonman on

Saberi shows how you can cash in on your 15 minutes of fame. While she was a reporter, she never once reported anything that wasn't obvious from a 5 minute surf on the internet. So one could say that she was merely "cruising" for what happened.

If in fact she was working for the US as a "courier", damesh garm, she earned it. Enjoy it Sweetie!

How many of us would risk imprisonment in our opposition to the iRI?

But as far as redeeming messages go, Saberi is barely a footnote in our ongoing historical record. Taazeh, this is the good stuff... Just wait until Iran is freed and get's boring and dull.

God, I can't wait...

RESPONDING To Mr. Free

by bahramthegreat on

YOU ARE RIGHT. I DON'T HAVE HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. WHAT I WROTE IS NOTHING BUT MY OBSERVATION ON THE COURT SYSTEM AND HOW EASY IT IS FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS. I KNOW YOU ARE JEWISH OR AN ISRAILI AND DID NOT LIKE WHAT I WROTE. BUT MY GOOGLE SEARCH TELLS ME THERE ARE FROUDS IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - TAKE CARE

BTW - THIS TOPIC IS OUTSIDE ROXANA SABERI'S INTERVIEW WITH JON STEWART

"I am telling you my story to point out the court system here is as bad as our beloved country Iran"

I hope you realize, "Bahram," that you're insane. Utterly and completely. Please check yourself in, and take Sargooz with you. And Ayhab, it's "fond" of, not "found of." "[not that i am found of]" And you say you're a teacher in a university??? Is your institution of higher learning accredited by one of the states in this great union or a village in Rasht?

Yikes!

Justice system in both countries

by bahramthegreat on

I must tell my story on the justice system in this country. It is almost as bad as Iran. An Israeli roofer came to fix our roof. A very nice man to start with. He got half of the money and did nothing to our roof. Later he took me to the court to get the rest of the money. He did not have roofing experience and end up damaging my roof. I just came back from the small claim court and it was decided by judge to pay the total amount written in the contract. The judge was Jewish and both mediators were Jewish as well. I felt the whole thing was a setup. I did some google search and found out there are construction companies under the control of notorious Israeli gangs in the southern California region. Their aim is to fraud innocent people that have no court experience. I am telling you my story to point out the court system here is as bad as our beloved country Iran.

iroooni

There is so much injustice in Iranian courts

by iroooni on

Criminals get away with stealing other people's money. And, when they get caught they pay money to the judges and they end up not paying back the money or serving any time.

Good interview. Good luck!

Mr. Sargord

by capt_ayhab on

Seems like you are trying ever so valiantly to  compare an independent judicial system i.e. US[not that i am found of] to a body that has no independence of its own what so ever[i.e. IR UN-judicial system].

First and the biggest flow in you argument........... One can not compare the two. US judicial system, however flowed it might be,  is run by the order of the  law, no mater how flowed that written law might appear, and the other[IR] by group of vetted[Montakhab, mostly political friends rather than lawmakers-ghanongozar] members of the same family[do you read me here? or should be more clear?], whose sole existence depends on OBEYING the ORDERS from above.

Any other argument, other than the attempt to compare oranges to apples will be welcomed and entertained.

Anonymous Observer

No, Tahgord Jan

by Anonymous Observer on

That person would probably get 10 years in a US penitentiary. And you think that sentence would have any chance in hell of being suspended? For any reason?

The sentence will NOT be suspended because as opposed to the Mickey Mouse operation that is the IRI "judicial system"...hold on, let me finish laughing....OK, I'm done...no, wait, have to laugh some more....OK, now I'm done--in your country of U. S.,  there will be the following differences.  The accused will have the following rights:

-Right to a lawyer;

-Right to confront the witnesses against her;

-Right to remain silent;

-Right to review all the evidence against her;

-Right to properly prepare for a trial--which in these cases take years;

-Right to plea bargain;

-Right to a trial by jury of her peers;

So, when the person is convicted, the conviction is a result of a fair trial where the person is afforded Due Process.  That is what a fair judicial system is.

Now go watch the Military Channel and stop embarrassing yourself by talking about things and countries (Iran) that you know nothing about. :-))

Sargord Pirouz

Yeah, anon, that "defense"

by Sargord Pirouz on

Yeah, anon, that "defense" would sure hold up in America for an Iranian found holding a "non-stamped" top secret American defense document with intent (or otherwise) to publish.

That person would probably get 10 years in a US penitentiary. And you think that sentence would have any chance in hell of being suspended? For any reason?

I do remember her mentioning it, and I also remember that his attorney in Iran was the one who first said anything about the issue.

nonetheless I am happy for her release, I wish NO one in IR dungeons NO ONE.

Anonymous Observer

Yes, Bavafa

by Anonymous Observer on

She has "conveneiently" forgotten to mention "interviews".  I say she is a spy, and that the IRI was correct in jailing her and sentencing her to eight years prison, which they themselves knew was so bogus that they released her and let her leave the country after that "court issued" sentence!!!!  Some spy. :-))))

I would even go one step further than you:  I say that the IRi should have put her against the wall and shot her--like they have done with tens of thousands of Iranians already.  I would even say that if they had done that, Palestine may have been free by now.

 :-)))

Captain:  She did offer an explanation for those so called "sensitive papers" in her first interview after her release.  She said that they weren't stamped "secret" and that she had access to them (like many other people did).  And she did admit that she had made copies of them for her book.

Bavafa

And conveniently she

by Bavafa on

And conveniently she forgets to mentioned in any of her interviews.

I rooted for her release, I even signed petition, blogged about her and all. But this nagging question has not left me:

How did she come to posses those so called alleged sensitive papers?

off you go to iran and "throw these arab invaders out of our country"...

The whole country has been kidnapped

by mahmoudg on

Iran has been kidnapped for 30 years, by terrorists.  Mullahs, Basij and Pasdars have done more damage to this country by their actions (such as this), than any enemy could ever hope for.  It is time we throw these Arab invaders out of our conutry, by force I may add.
