Iran assets withdrawn from Europe

Says Central Bank chief

AFP: Iran's central bank chief said on Friday that Tehran has withdrawn the assets held by its banks in Europe to escape the latest round of international economic sanctions over its nuclear drive. "The Central bank ... has transferred the (Iranian) banks' assets from Europe. Currently there is no problem in regards to blocking of assets of the Iranian banks by the European Union," Mahmoud Bahmani was quoted as telling the Fars news agency. He did not say how much money was involved, what its destination was or when the transfers took place. "We will address the needs of our people during sanctions, since the Central Bank predicted the situation six months ago," he added >>>

They are right. Iran should invest those assets in agriculture and agriculture technologies to create jobs and become independent. In addition, they should build and offer one story less costly housings with zero interest in rural areas to support agriculture instead of costly multi story concrete housing in and around large cities that only attract the rural population and harm the agriculture in addition to over crowding the cities, creating pollution and increasing crimes.

JJ, You are used to Al faraar. Till when you are going to Al faraar? Al faraar is not going to solve any problems.

These olaghs lost billions and billions of dollars when they converted all their US dollars into euro and now they are even going to loose more by taking their money out of the europian banks. I guess the IRI has no choice , it  is slowly getting cornered!

They lost money by just withdrawing "assets". What are they going to do, turn it to Rials? That's even more lost money.  They want to do everything except what is normal. On the 5th anniversary of the Katrina disater let's use it for our own disaster; Brownie you're doing a heck of a job!
