the modern and clean clothing style
by Mehman on Thu Aug 19, 2010 10:21 PM PDTAkhonds meaningless attacks on ties and modern clothing is a source of shame. One thing I appreciate about Reza Shah is the fact that he changed Iran's clothing from the medieval style to the modern style.

by Demo on Thu Aug 19, 2010 05:34 PM PDTThe Quran itself answers your question: "then woe to those who invents writings of their own with their own hands, and then say:"this is from GOD," to traffic with it for miserable price!- woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby (Verse 79 of Chapter 2)." Not only Akhoonds (Ayatollahs, Hojat-e-islam, etc.) write their own "Resalats" (An Exclusive Title for the Prophets' Divine Revelations) to get religious degrees ??!! they also shamelessly hide stuff from Quran whenever their own religious legitimacy becomes an issue. Based on verse 24 of the same Chapter they lead the whole group (even a nation) of their followers with themselves to the fires of hell in thereafter.
Live & Let Live...
by Ali P. on Thu Aug 19, 2010 05:10 PM PDTWe all have our opinions about ties, tatoos, long hair, monarchism, marijuana, Bahaii religion, turban, Islam, homosexuality, hejaab, mini skirts, pets, Satan worshipping, civil unions, female drivers(!),....etc.
The question, is, can we all, learn to live in a civil society, where we have our opinions-as strong as they may be- ragarding these, and still learn to let others, live the way they want, with regards to any of these practices ?

Ghara`ati said once
by Benyamin on Thu Aug 19, 2010 03:00 PM PDTIf an akhund gets on the "asstor=khar e sheytoon" no one can get him off of it not even the "satan" itself.
He certainly proven that.
I don`t know exactly how many verses are in Quran and I appologise for my ignorance. But as far as I know it is approximately over 6000 verses. This man(Ghara`ati) had a show on tv for about 20 years every night 6 days a week and talked about Quran`s verses. I don`t believe he actually finished it. I wonder because it took 20 years to complete Quran and the verses were given to Mohammad not every day and in fact "occasionally" in the course of 20 years. It was 1400 years ago and other than hand writing or shouting there was no mass media. so I have a question to ask
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MR. GHARA`ATI HAS MORE TO SAY ABOUT QURAN THAN THE PROPHIT MOHAMMAD HIMSELF?
Now he is talking about Kaleval??? In hypocracy there is no one worse than an akhund.
What is Cravat? Cravat is a frenchized word of hrvatca or hervatia which today we call it croatia. Croatians have immigrated around 1000 years ago to central Europe through Russia and Poland and the plains of Europe to where they are today. They are originally from the area that we call Herat or Harat in west part of Afghanistan or east part of Persian empire. If you look at the Cravat today their designs still resembles the Iranian or oriental shapes rather than european. The hrvatian or Croatians wore the necktie around their neck and the french saw it as something "cool" and then it spread to all of europe.
The fact is that Cravat is originated from Iran and iranian people.
Ghara`ati and his "gang of Akhunds" have done nothing but making fun of Iranian culture.
A.N. is absolutely right!
by ghalam-doon on Thu Aug 19, 2010 02:45 PM PDTThat's what they were doing when his "imaame raahel" was still alive. They were painting the arms of those who dared to wear short sleeve shirts. They used to spray acid in the faces of those women who dared to show a strand of hair.
When Mousavi talks about the "golden age of his beloved imam," he forgets to mention these facts.
Now Mr. Mousavi wants to revive that era, like we all suffer from mass amnesia. NO THANKS!

by masoudA on Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:01 PM PDTdamet garm - that was fantastic
but while we are on the subject - Mr. Gharaati can you tell us why akhoonds prefer to wear naalein ? the backless shoes. Is it because they never plan to walk long distances? or is it because you are way too koon goshad to tie shoelaces?
Wearing a "Turban"
by Demo on Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:16 AM PDTIf wearing an "Ama-meh (Turban)" per this ignorant clown's saying means "knowing about Islam" then wearing a tie could mean "knowing about Circumcision."
A clear example of limitless Jahl (Ignorance) among fake clergies.
