by bottled-banana on Sun Aug 15, 2010 06:18 AM PDTYou are right about Bahais not speaking publicly very often about issues related to them on Iranian stations.
I guess one reason for this is that from the very beginning the Bahai community in Iran, as well as individual Bahais, have been accused of being pretty much everything nasty, dangerous, traitorous, conniving etc, under the sun. It seems like there was nothing horrible that the Bahais could not be accused of. And, sadly, many of these innuendos have become accepted as facts by many Iranians, who simply didn't know any better.
As a result, aside from the fact that Bahais do not take part in party politics and taking entrenched political positions, we have become very wary of expressing our views openly to the Iranian media for the fear of being misrepresented. Also, for the fear of making the situation of the Bahais living in Iran even worse, should the authorities there become antagonised at Bahais openly expressing their views.
But, I do agree with one of the commenters here that as Bahais we need to start doing this more often and be less stiff about it. And btw, I find Parazit a very smart, sharp and sassy satirical show.

I love parazit.
by Tahirih on Sat Aug 14, 2010 02:04 PM PDTThey are just brilliant. I love how they push us out of our comfort zone to hear things that used to be taboo in our culture.
Also as cyclic forward said we bahais can also loosen up:))
Just love them,
Tahirih

by Monda on Sat Aug 14, 2010 11:18 AM PDTTheir content and satirical style getting more serious every week, zendeh baad jeddan! It's about time people inside Iran could hear a Bahai authority speak.
Nice interview with some good humor
by cyclicforward on Sat Aug 14, 2010 10:01 AM PDTI think Bahai's finally learned not to be so stiff and get out there and talk about their cause. I wish them every success and this is a good thing for everybody.

Another good one!
by comrade on Fri Aug 13, 2010 03:53 PM PDTThey seem getting better, more seasoned, and mature steadily. I hope they'll never fall victim to international politics and American fluid interests.

Bahai spokesperson
by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Aug 13, 2010 02:59 PM PDTAnother ground-breaking interview. When was the last time you saw a Bahai official speak on an Iranian station. It's very rare. And in this case, millions in Iran were able to listen directly to a Bahai, probably for the first time. That's progress!
