It seems this missile is a prototype. Its a very strange one. While it points to major improvements in guidance systems, it seemed it went a step backward for choosing the liquid fuel for the engine.

But then again, as you pointed out, maybe they are working on a new fuel mixture. 

But why invest in liquid fuels when they already have the know hows on how to make solid fuel engines?

To answer your questions, one of the available photos provides technicians prepping the SSM while erect on the TEL. Using that as a reference, scale and size can be determined.

Also, the color of the rocket engine's flame suggests a different mixture is being used.

The fact that there aren't any fins (Vector Thrust Stabilization instead of Aerodynamic Stabilization) suggests a better fit with the Simorgh SLV project's lower stage.

You know, I realize you guys' only interest here is to knock the country you cut and ran from many years ago. But if you do have serious technical questions, I will answer them to the best of my ability. I only wish you had something informative or substantive to offer, other than the usual mundane anti-Iran cheerleading.

I'm looking at this, and have two observations:

1) It is a more compact design than the Shahab series.

2) It appears to be a more efficient design to, say, attach to the Simorgh SLV/arrangement. That could represent a "Qiam" moment in Iranian rocket design.

Incredible, these technological advances, all the while being the target of economic warfare (sanctions) by the US and West.
