Exactly! Mr. Kadivar also mentioned the flag. Names of streets, hospitals, schools, universities, etc., etc. have been changed by th regime. Even the name of our country!

There is a Palestine Square in Tehran.......I watched this video more than a year ago from a website......It took me only several seconds to find this video on you-tube by searching the words "Palestine Square Tehran"

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGMFYaL9zcI&p=8131C437FC0D1CDF

Are there a lot of Palestine streets or Palestine Squares in Iran?

There is a Neda street in Italy...and Neda Soltan street in Yemen...that is great!

Bahram Gohari is right.......they need to have more "Persian Gulf" streets named over there....

I think they need to have more Persian Gulf Squares, too.

Great job. You may not get replied to but if a thousand more write it will have an impact. I already signed the NIAC petition. I am going to write them a hand written letter as well and mail it.

The minimum we could do it so sign the NIAC thing. It costs nothing and does not mean we are NIAC memebers.

Here is the link from a post by MM {hope he approves}

Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime

The turbanless A-RAB (i.e., Zibra-Kalam)

by Everybody Loves Somebody ... on

should have reminded the turban-wearing A-RAB that the cells sleeping or awake all come from the A-RAB countries, Saudi A-RABIA in particular (e.g., 911!)

Needless to say that Mullahs have been instigating the A-RABs since 1979 starting with Sad'dam which resulted in the invasion of Iran.

Idiot;

by G. Rahmanian on

First of all, idiots are your daddy and your whole clan of good-for-nothing, mullah-loving terrorists! 2. I never claimed it was never called Arabian Gulf by Arabs. 3. The video has been postrd on this site several times before. 4. I never compared Shah's era with IR's. Because that would be a huge insult to the Monarchists and I have no reason to insult them. 5. The gulf issue is not as important as the whole of Iran which is ruled by a warmongering regime endangering it in its entirety. 6. I repeat, with a sane government Arabs will not turn  this issue into a dispute and would not get any support the way they are getting now. 7. With a sane, democratic government in Iran which respects its neighbors this will not be an issue, anymore. 8. With a sane vernment in Iran Arab states would not wish Iran to be bombed.Now, you can crawl back into your cell and try to plan your next terrorist move!!!

We are well aware of the fact that Gamal Nasser invented "Arabian" ... No need to insult us. The point is that IRI with its weaker international influence is less able to protect Iranian interests.

Some would say IRI is not even interested in protecting Iran and is more interested in protecting itself.

Yes Arabs want Israel gone. Now IF Israel was stupid enough to alienate USA Arabs would have an easier time. However Israeli have wisely chosen to keep a tight rein on America. Therefore guaranteeing their power and ability to kick Tazi butt. It would behoove us to learn this from them.

Arabian Gulf was a problem PRE-REVOLUTION

by dariushabadi on

Here is a video during Shah's time:

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYTfZOfTUhg

As you can see, they were calling it Arabian gulf even during Shah's time. Are you implying Shah was sane and the Islamic republic isn't? The Arabs have tried to rename it since post-colonial times when they wanted to assert their "national" pride.

So it has nothing to do with who is in power in Iran. Israel is a superpower in the region yet it doesn't mean the Arabs don't want to create a Palestine.

You are all idiots for thinking otherwise.

Iran should change the name

Iran should change the name of every streets that Arabs have their embassies to Persian Gulf, thisway the Arabs, I mean the lizard esters will be forced to use the correct name Persian Gulf when they have to correspond with their embassies.

by Bavafa on

"These IR supporters and apologists want Iranians to forget about what is happening in Iran"

This may very well be true yet lump summing every one who points out about the Arab dictatorship and backwardness as IRI apologist is not much different then those IRI supporters who are trying to deflect attention and or shut the opposition.

Likewise to assume that the Arab governments will start bowing to an Iran without IRI might be just a wishful thinking and/or day dreaming. The animosity between the Arab world and Iranians has been around for a long time and did not start in 79, nor likely will end by demise of IRI. We don't know ourselves what awaits us exactly after IRI, are we assuming that all will be hunky dory and cool with the Arab world?

Only when our societies (Arab and Iranian) which are guided by education, believing in peaceful coexistence among neighbors perhaps lead by democratic and secular regime will end such animosity and hatred.

Dear G. Rahmanian,

     Thank you for your post! I read this article on IC last night:

//iranian.com/main/2010/dec/football-hot-water

I was wondering when the Persian Gulf name dispute started: before the revolution? After the revolution? After IRI started to enrich uranium?

Your post pretty much answered my question! The name dispute is the manifestation of some other deeper problems........you are right that the name dispute will go away when sensible and reasonable people are in power.

These IR supporters and apologists want Iranians to forget about what is happening in Iran.

well said!

Thank you!

G. Rahmanian

Dear Yolanda:

by G. Rahmanian on

At least he didn't say "Arabian Gulf." They will all say Persian Gulf as soon as sane people are in power in Iran. Furthermore, what is a gulf when the whole of Iran is at stake? Arab states in the region have been very patient with the regime in Iran. The regime is still calling itself "revolutionary" and IR rulers have always dreamt of exporting their revolution. That plus interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries by IR were and are the most essential causes of the enmity that Arab states demonstrate towards Iran of today. Listen to IR supporters talk about Arab dictators. As if it is our mission to save the Arab world. These IR supporters and apologists want Iranians to forget about what is happening in Iran.
