by annonymous_ranting on Wed Jan 13, 2010 05:27 AM PSTI can't believe the comments I'm reading.
At least Afghanestan is improving. Do you think without westerners going there it would have fixed itself? A little respect for all the European and American innocents who have died there trying to put some sense into a bunch of wild tribes.
It will be quite embarrasing if the progress of Afghanestan continues while Iran remains the bum hole of the world under the Akhunds.
Regarding persian language, my understanding is that Afghan's have kept a more pure version of Farsi. Nooshafarin has couple of tracks where she sings them both in iranian farsi and afghani farsi. I find the Afghani Farsi cute in those songs.
BTW, Akhunds don't allow iranian women to sing free either. Dont forget that.

by yolanda on Tue Jan 12, 2010 07:50 PM PSTThank you, Benross,
I did not see the Tehran Idol or Iranian Idol video....:O) I know there are a lot of great Iranian singers and they can do way better than these people, they are not afraid of singing aloud! :O)
Is there a Tehran Idol or Iranian Idol?
by benross on Tue Jan 12, 2010 07:35 PM PSTWe had it last summer and the louder one won.
America's gift to Aghans!Cheaper than builidng hospitals&schools
by obama on Tue Jan 12, 2010 07:14 PM PSTJust keep them occupied while US has occupied their land, busy bombing the country!! What a bargain!
BTW why don't these people learn real persian? (I know theirs is purer than us) As long as you talk like daahaati, walk like daahaati, educated as much as daahaati you are going to stay daahaati and the more educated outsider will take advantage of your naivete!
How they have kept these poor innocent people backward. That's a shame! No wonder US goes there as it pleases! Wish the best for our Afghan brothers!
:o))
by Khar on Tue Jan 12, 2010 05:53 PM PSTNice! I'm still laughing.

by yolanda on Tue Jan 12, 2010 05:25 PM PSTAll these guys appear to be introverts and nice people, not like American Idol, full of outlandish characters! It seems to me that they are afraid to sing aloud or they don't want to sing aloud! Is there a Tehran Idol or Iranian Idol?
This is Our Lot...Damn
by mannya2001 on Tue Jan 12, 2010 05:19 PM PSTOf all the people in the world who would be speaking farsi, it had to be the .........Aren't they a majority Pashtun nation, then talk pashtun and spare us please....
the feeling is the same when you listen to 2nd generation iranian-foreigners, by the time a word comes out or a sentence is uttered , it feels like sitting in the driver seat of a stick shift car and the driver doesn't know how to change gear....
Woman Afghan Star
by Ari Siletz on Tue Jan 12, 2010 04:24 PM PSTMove over Simon Cowell; mike is yours, JJ
by The Phantom Of The Opera on Tue Jan 12, 2010 04:18 PM PSTMake sure you never quit your day job for running for any public office. Never mind political incorrectness; making such an ethnically charged comment during a fundraising campaign defies being a business savvy as well.
The Pahlavis, all mullahs, and all public figures associated with the Green Movement must disclose the source and the amount of their wealth/income.

by Princess on Tue Jan 12, 2010 01:25 PM PSTThis is very funny. A sign of progress, I guess. First things first, who cares about the infrastructure, etc :)
JJ jaan, let them allow the women to use the public baths every other day, instead of once a week, never mind the rest for now.
funny afghan idol
by hamsade ghadimi on Tue Jan 12, 2010 01:27 PM PSTthis video was funny and you've got to feel a bit sorry for these shy and untalented men with exception of a few who shall i say had some flair in their singing style. i got an afghan idol cd recently and it's pretty decent. i can't understand every other word, but still, it's not bad.
