Unreality TV: Imagine our confusion when we got our hands on ITV’s Popstar to Operastar press pack this week, only to find that Darius Danesh is now being called Darius Campbell. We were sure that there couldn’t be two Darius’ in the world who are that good looking and we were right. It turns out that Darius has dropped his father’s surname Danesh and adopted his mum’s maiden name of Campbell instead.

Darius failed to warn his dad that change was coming and he told The Sun: "He should just keep it Danesh because everyone knows him as that. He will be visiting soon and I will certainly be asking him about it then."

While Darius’s agent Oriana Elia admitted: “I don’t know why Darius has changed his surname.” Darius now lives in Hollywood with his movie star girlfriend and experts feel that the name change may have been a clever move, to make himself appear more Scottish. An insider said: “Hollywood has gone Scots crazy now that Gerard Butler is a big box office draw. “So Campbell definitely sounds a lot more Scottish which will do Darius a world of good out there.”

Campbell, Danesh, we don’t care. He still leaves us weak at the knees!
