This film is Okay
by عموجان on Thu Mar 25, 2010 10:06 PM PDTThere is another film made in 1976 with the name of ( people of the wind ) and as a Bakhtiari I think it shows the hardship in migration much better and real ( it is in english, that helps).

These days you can drive that rout with in 4 hours from Isfahan to Baghmalek or Izeh it is beautiful and the roads are great specially in March I did that two years ago. Also there is a book name Gorgias Press - Layard, Austen Henry. Early Adventures in Persia, Susiana, and Babylonia which is like a Bible to Bakhtiaris and has a great part about migration and leaving with them for two years in late 1840
I wish these films were dubbed in English!
by Monda on Thu Mar 25, 2010 09:01 PM PDTFascinating culture with superior survival skill, in tune with nature.
A good friend in Iran brought me three mafreshes, each hand made by the Bakhtiaris she used to visit and live with. Their art is as colorful and rugged as they are.
One Wish
by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Mar 25, 2010 05:09 PM PDTThe last place I want to visit on Earth is Iran. First of all I don't think I would be greeted with happy faces at the airport. Second, there's so much in the rest of the world I have not seen -- yet. But if I ever did go back to Iran I would love to take a few weeks and join the Bakhtiaris on one of their migrations. Just thinking about it gives me a high.
