Qualities that matter
by Abarmard on Mon Mar 08, 2010 03:36 AM PSTMr. Ghalibaf is a perfect presidential candidate. He truly understands the business side of the equation and has the brain, charisma, and experience to move Iran forward.
Similar to president Bush era, those who don't care for Pres. Ahmadinejad are counting the days for him to finish his term.
Ugly Ahmaghinejad followers
by choghok on Mon Mar 08, 2010 02:15 AM PSTUgly faces of Ahmaghinejad followers have started to popup here again. Dead bodies of young iranians raped and killed savagely by his stooges are still warm in their graves.
Say Ghalibaf and Mohsen Hashemi are twice as corrupt as Ahmaghinejad and his thugs but they have at least not cowardly raped and killed any peaceful protester.
Crawl back to the hole you came from basiji and keep drinking your sandis.
Kharmagas ...Its a shame ...
by No Fear on Sun Mar 07, 2010 06:06 PM PSTTo top off this massive corruption called Tehran Metro , this organization headed by Rafsanjanis son, is not required to show and disclose its financial books to the government despite asking funds from the government.
Ahmadinejad rightfully wants to take over and clean the corruption but so far , all attempts have failed.
Right now, tehran metro is an independent renegade that swallows huge funds , doesn't payback loans, and doesn't answer to anybody.( maybe to the inept Tehran city council all connected to rafsanjani ). They got a real good scam going on there.
Why Fear????
by Demo on Sun Mar 07, 2010 01:39 PM PSTThe billion dollar paid to Rafsanjani’s son for the so called Tehran metro management debts pay off is only a drop in the ocean of money that Rafsanjani;s family & their web have been ripping off the country for the past 31 years. Ghalibaf is part of this mafia & if one day ever the people come out of their bearish sleep they would find out the extent of Rafsanjani & Khamenei mafias activities.
interesting info (to No Fear)
by marhoum Kharmagas on Sun Mar 07, 2010 09:09 AM PSTThanks for your post regarding Tehran's metro. I don't have enough info to take sides on this issue, but not too long ago when I visited Iran I heard similar stories..... I don't know which side can address this issue, but I know that people in either side (greens or non greens) that think their side only can address this issue are to0 naive.
Ghalibaf is over rated.
by No Fear on Sun Mar 07, 2010 04:43 AM PSTHis number supporter is Rafsanjani & Co.
To his credit, he did take on several big projects in Tehran and successfully finished it. But unfortunately his management of the metro system with Hashemi ( son of Rafsanjani ) has led to huge financial problems for Tehran Metro Network.
They have ran out of budget and spent all the money on tunneling where a network of contractors with close ties with Rafsanjani & Co. are charging unrealistic sums of money for their services. They are over budget now and didn't have any money left to pay for the metro trains which were purchased by LC ( Letter of credit ) from china and couldn't be released from our port since the payment were not made.
This is the beef that Ahmadinejad has with Tehran Metro. Its about poor financial management despite the relative progress of the metro projects.
Tehran metro has defaulted on all of its loans that it has borrowed from Iranian banks and has not paid back any debt whatsoever. It has also borrowed from foreign investors as well. And it continues to ask for more budget from the government.
Now our majlis has approved an additional 2 billion dollars to be taken out from our foreign savings accounts to pay for Metro networks in Iran. Most of that money will be spent on Tehran Metro. This is after heavy lobbying and ofcourse public pressure to open more metro stations.
The Expediency Council headed by Rafsanjani himself, approved the bill immidiately.
More than a billion dollar will be given to Rafsanjani's son ( Hashemi ), to use this money as he chooses to do so for the metro system.
When Ahmadinejad was trying to get rid of Rafsanjani's son's grip over the metro system, it was Ghalibaf himself who came out strongly to support Hashemi ... why?
Why every god damn politician or executives , politically related to Rafsanjani, have posts and positions that are permenants? why?
Who put Hashemi in charge of the metro system? Why he can hold on to this position forever?
It sickens me to witness all this corruption. I hope Ahmadinejad succeed in chopping these hands of our public funds.
And still some retards believe Rafsanjani & Co are the answer to a greener Iran.... Pathetic !
He seems to be a good choice!
by choghok on Sun Mar 07, 2010 03:01 AM PSTI think he is much better choice than the Revolutionary guards bunch running the country right now. His criticism on Khatami seems to be non existent really since the inability of Khatami was due to blocking of his way by Ali yek dast and revolutionary guards.
Also during a secret taping he bashed Ahmadinejad to be not worthy and not even a muslim. Ahmadinejad tries also to get rid of him but since Ghalibaf has some support with Ali yek dast he has not been able to.
He has watched "Lost" and "24"!

Akh ya Hasrat
Hassan Khomeini inshalla our next President
by yahoo_yabo on Sat Mar 06, 2010 08:32 PM PSTThis Ghalibaf is like Al Gore, planning since high school to be the President some day. I hope he never succeeds. I never trusted him
