Among five lawyers arrested on "security charges"

Reuters: Five lawyers have been arrested in Iran for security-related offences, a local news agency said on Sunday, the latest in a series of arrests of human rights' activists since last year's disputed presidential election.

Tehran general prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi said three of the lawyers were arrested when they returned from a trip to Turkey, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

"Two other lawyers related to the three were also detained in Iran," the prosecutor told Fars.

"They have been detained for committing security-related offences and violating the Islamic Republic's moral standards outside Iran," he said, without elaborating on the charges.

Sara Sabaghian, Maryam Kian-Ersi and Maryam Karbasi were arrested at Tehran's International Imam Khomeini Airport on Saturday, the Sharq newspaper reported >>>

Not intending to denigrate anyone, but

One should try to have realistic views and expectations of a society.  When a few million folks decide [in their minds] that 70+ million folks have to abandon their cultural and religious heritage for a 'foreign' culture, then many issues arise…

My suggestion to folks is to change your attitude and expectations to match the reality…

Islam does NOT recognize a set of WESTERN values labeled as 'human rights.'

Thank you for selecting them as Iranians of the Day!

Very brave ladies! It seems to me a lot of people in Iran should be Nobel Prize candidates after Chinese dissident, Liu Xiaobo, won the Nobel Prize.

Thank you for posting the article........sensible choice for Iranians of the Day!

If this was not an extremely sad and grave situation, I would have been LMAO for this charge.

How low do they (IRI) have to go to come up with such charges?

My hat off to these brave and educated LADIES.
