The Guardian: King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has repeatedly urged the United States to attack Iran to destroy its nuclear programme, according to leaked US diplomatic cables that describe how other Arab allies have secretly agitated for military action against Tehran. The revelations, in secret memos from US embassies across the Middle East, expose behind-the-scenes pressures in the scramble to contain the Islamic Republic, which the US, Arab states and Israel suspect is close to acquiring nuclear weapons. Bombing Iranian nuclear facilities has hitherto been viewed as a desperate last resort that could ignite a far wider war >>>

From Hamid to Saudi King:
Shut the fuck up!
Who knew you even had an opinion. You talk less than the women you
have jailed in shroud for centuries.
Piss ant can talk now, what a freaking revelation.
Old, fat idiot. As if you haven't attacked Iran enough times. Your
"brother-in-laws" run and rule the ancient land your freakezoid ancestors
attacked so long ago, so from the land that 20 out of 20 hijackers were from,
if I were you, I would put my head up my ass, where it has been and keep it
there.

What's all the fuss about?
by Anonymous Observer on Mon Nov 29, 2010 10:24 AM PSTUnlike the IR which won't hesitate a minute to sacrifice every man, woman and child in Iran over its ideology, other nations do what they think is in the interest of their people.
It doesn't take a genius to realize that a nuclear armed--or even empowered--Iran will be a strategic threat to the other major nations in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia which sits just across the Persian Gulf, and the UAE, with whom Iran has a dispute over the three islands.
Moreover, unlike the IR which sent Iranian children to walk on mines so that Ghods can be liberated, Saudis figure that they can minimize their risks and casualties if they get the U.S. to attack Iran for them. Plus, they're probably incapable of doing it themselves anyway.
So, what's the fuss all about? Unlike the IR which puts ideology first--Iran be damned--other nations put their national interests first.
Remember the great Imam Khomeini's words:
"I say let Iran burn if it benefits Islam." Other nations don't think that way.
Unthinkable, Muslim wants another Muslim dead.

Saudi's getting orders
by MOOSIRvaPIAZ on Mon Nov 29, 2010 05:09 AM PST"Saudi Arabia should exercise leadership with neighbors in the region
and publicly by expressing concerns about Iran,s continued pursuit of a
nuclear weapons capability and destabilizing activities in the region.
-- We would appreciate public expressions of support for the P5 1
dual track process including encouragement for Iran to accept the
incentives package. -- Saudi Arabia should exercise its influence
with China, in particular, to persuade China to reduce its growing
energy/economic cooperation and weapons purchases. Such efforts by
China run contrary to the spirit of the UNSCRs and the P5 1 dual track
strategy. A high level Saudi delegation could communicate to China
Saudi concerns about the threat posed by Iran,s actions."
10.18am: Like the Saudis,
by MOOSIRvaPIAZ on Mon Nov 29, 2010 04:55 AM PST10.18am: Like the Saudis, Tony Blair is also keen to use force to end Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Blair's former spin doctor, Alastair Campbell, says the cables could
open the way for a tougher stance against Tehran. In a new blogpost he
writes:
I was left with the impression that anyone in the US system pushing for a hardening of the policy position vis a vis Iran would be able to build a lot of support for such a move.
Fascinating
too the view of Israeli defence minister Ehud Barak last year that if
Iran's nuclear ambitions were not checked soon, they would be developed
to such an extent that a military response would be impossible because
of collateral damage. Part of me thought that was just the Israelis
doing their usual thing of trying to push the US harder than they want
to go. Another part of me thought 'holy shit!'
11.28am: Der Speigel, one of the five media organisations including the Guardian to have had access to the cables, has a new roundup of the reaction.
It says one of the few countries which may stand to benefit from the revelations appears to be Israel.
"These
(disclosures) don't hurt Israel at all -- perhaps the opposite," Giora
Eiland, a former national security adviser to ex-prime ministers Ariel
Sharon and Ehud Olmert, told Israeli radio. "If there is something on
the Iranian issue that, in my opinion, happens to help Israel, it is
that these leaks show that Arab countries like Saudi Arabia are far more
interested in Iran than they are in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
It
also quotes US senator Joseph Lieberman, chair of the Senate homeland
security committee, calling for WikiLeaks to be shut down.
By
disseminating these materials, WikiLeaks is putting at risk the lives
and the freedom of countless Americans and non-Americans around the
world. It is an outrageous, reckless and despicable action.

Doesn't Israel propaganda dept. have any vetting process for hiring these people? Or is it that they have hit the bottom of the barrel that any one with a two year diploma from Akaber class can get a job with them?
Going back to the subject:
It is interesting for a regime that has been primary responsible for the 9/11 attack, by providing the necessary financial and ideology support to Al Qeada that enabled them to carry such attack, now is asking US to destroy yet another Muslim country.

by Sargord Pirouz on Sun Nov 28, 2010 04:18 PM PSTWhat a PR disaster for the US State Dept.
Check out the actual docs at Wikileaks (they've uploaded 200 so far out of 251,000):
//cablegate.wikileaks.org/index.html
Arab leaders appear childish, which is a commonly held stereotype.
The Israelis are candid about a Japan option, implying they know Iran has made no political decision to weaponize.
Can you imagine what ordinary people in Arab and Turkish countries are thinking right now? Or the embarrassment and sense of betrayal by certain world leaders that this kind of leak could even happen from out of the US?
This entire episode is astonishing for a multitude of reasons. I can only imagine what surprises are in store for the remaining 251,000 docs, especially in regards to the US-Israeli relationship.
Regarding the US State Dept spying on the UN and foreign governments: who knew how right those Iranian students were when they stormed the US embassy and declared it a nest of spies?! lol
