by Darius Kadivar on Wed Sep 29, 2010 03:34 AM PDTI am certain this may trigger more coverage to pressure the IRI to set him free.
Fingers Crossed !
DK, thx for fr5 link
by Rea on Wed Sep 29, 2010 03:11 AM PDTShe sounds rather optimistic.
IRI is probably just sending a message to other Iranian bloggers and, if so, will reduce the sentence considerably on appeal.

But seriously, the whole thing smells fishy. You never know who to believe. But political prisoners should be released. No doubt about it.

not a betting man myself, but I was sure he'd not be executed
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:01 AM PDTAnd I was right. I am just as sure he'll not be spending the next 19 years in Jail, let alone be tortured. I hope for his speedy and safe release ASAP. What he does after that is up to his conscious.
Let's face it, there are now people in kurdistan who are forced into taking up arms to defend themselves and families against Islamist regime. There are democracy and student activists, writers, union leaders and so on who are bravely defying the regime inside Iran, risking their lives daily for secularism and democracy for Iran. To even think the regime is considering this young man to be a high priority risk to it's stability is just ridiculous.
HG: I think so too. I think
by vildemose on Tue Sep 28, 2010 09:50 AM PDTHG: I think so too. I think he'll be walking the streets of London in less than 2 years; perhaps as a double agent in some shape or form, infilterating any of the opposition groups abroad.
i bet he'll be released on
by hamsade ghadimi on Tue Sep 28, 2010 09:46 AM PDTi bet he'll be released on bond (bet. $300k and $500k) within a year.
Thanks God
by statira on Tue Sep 28, 2010 09:43 AM PDTat least he's not convicted to death. He wont be in jail for long, because regime is not gonna last that long.

We Should Start an International Cyber Campaign in Support
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Sep 28, 2010 04:17 AM PDTA Reminder to all those who think that writing is easy and blogging is to be taken for granted when it comes to the Freedom of Expression. I wish Hossein Well and that this absurd predicament on a fellow blogger/journalist will not last as announced by this abject IRI sentence. An International Campaign to Liberate him should be launched as soon as possible.
I believe that EVERY IC Event should be a Pretext to Highlight his Predicament and we should even put a Timer or Photo of Hossein on the Front Page for Each day spent in prison until his Liberation.
Set the Blogfather Free !
So Campaigning for his liberation is actually Campaigning for each and Every one of us and our Freedom of Expression !
WE ARE ALL A POTENTIAL HOSSEIN ABOUT TO BE ARRESTED !
