by Benyamin on Sat Apr 30, 2011 04:36 AM PDTI believe the real Azaries are those living in Iran and "the republic of Azarbaijan" is just a made up name for a made up area! The republic of Azarbaijan was named after the soviet union was established and they are doing a "poor" job to preserve their Turkic version of dialect!
In Iran we need to recognize not only the Azari language but also all variation and dialect of it! We are all iranians and we all have fought under the same banner for centuries to preserve the rights of some parts of iran is to preserve my rights! after all:
BANI ADAM A`ZAYE YEK DIGARAND!
We are not just connected through a general description of "humanity" but much deeper than that. we(Iranians) of all colors and walks of life connected and have created a unique situation, with all of our differences(which gives flavour to our lives and richness to our culture) we have more in common in many ways that connect us to each other.
MAYBE IT IS TIME TO BECOME TRUE IRANIANS ONCE AGAIN AND FIGHT FOR EACH OTHERS RIGHTS
As a (mainly) Fars Iranian
by Reality-Bites on Fri Apr 29, 2011 05:14 PM PDTI totally support the right of our Azari hamvatans, and indeed all Iranian ethnic groups, to have their languages offically recognized and added to the educational curriculum, at least as an optional subject for students who wish to study them.
I also condemn the imprisonment of Sima Didar for standing up for something that should be a basic human right. Another outrage by the IRI.
Language is the pillar of culture
by Bahram G on Fri Apr 29, 2011 04:05 PM PDTThe Iran nation needs a common language, or an (the) official language. It is Farsi at present. This common language is a key bridge that connects its vastly varied people. Without a common language, no cohesive nation can exist. Yet, there is absolutely no reason why Azaris and other people of our greater Iran should not be allowed to use and even nurture their tongues. Language is the foundation of culture. And the rich Azari culture as well as those of the others add immensely to the richness of the nation and in no way detract from Iranian-ness. It is shameful that an Azari dictator who heads the akhoond regime is blind to this right of our Azaris and a young woman is imprisoned for asking to preserve a pillar of her rich culture.

Benyamin jaan:
by Ali P. on Fri Apr 29, 2011 03:33 PM PDTAzari, as an official language?
We already have an official religion (Shia).
"An", in Iran, usually means "the".
What is an "official language"? How many of those could you have?
I am not taking a position on this, mind you, I, as a fan of your comments, just would like to know what you mean :-)
Turkun dili rasmi uson
by Benyamin on Fri Apr 29, 2011 03:07 PM PDTI sure support that. I amnot an azari by any means but I would like to see Azari az an official language in Iran.
Another victim of injustice
