The Independent: He's still a firm believer in truth and justice, but the world's foremost superhero is no longer sure he can carry on proudly endorsing the American way. As he approaches his 80th birthday, Superman has made a shock decision: he intends to renounce his US citizenship. The move, to be announced next week in the 900th edition of Action Comics, comes after a peculiarly topical plot twist: the Man of Steel finds himself being criticised by the White House for joining young Muslims at a rally against the regime of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran >>>

Superman is da man
by Jahanshah Javid on Sat Apr 30, 2011 09:04 PM PDTAt least American comic strip writers get it that the world is bigger than America.
And it's absolutely wonderful that he's gone to Iran of all places to help the protesters.
Thank you for recognizing the hard struggle of the Iranian people against religious tyranny, a people who have inspired anti-dictatorship revolts across the Middle East.
We Don't want Superman. Iran has it's own Superman. Reza Pahlavi

US Doesn't support Regime Change per se alaaf...
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sat Apr 30, 2011 06:10 PM PDTThe USA wants Islamic fundamentalism for Iran, they are so in love with non secular governments in the region, after occupying secular iraq and afghanistan, they created non secular governments with power in the hands of the local religous authorities and militias. The West loves Islam for everyone in the middle east.
In Irans case they are not happy with a supreme religious leader who's power they can not contain, so they want to clip his wings and change the system khomeini created, hence the green movement run by a united group of all english masons, rafsanjani, khatami, mousavi. They are not content with their own past policy of bringing and keeping this group in power since they are pursuing nuclear technology, who's key value is weaponry. They are very upset at khameneii not having iran accept loans and being under the control of the World Bank also.
The Wests alternatives are their own funded groups, like MEK, masons, etc etc
The west will not militarily confront the IRI because it is performing its number one objective, keeping Iran undeveloped, a weak global competitor and backwards. The exception is if they can't overthrow khameneii soon some other way, then they will have to.
As most of us know Irans Air defenses will last one afternoon only. It is not even a shadow of a fraction of what it used to be in terms of Freedom and Justice that existed during the time of the Shah. Now privately the USA is scared to death of Iranian Monarchy, which doesn't really matter they can't do anything about Irans History.. unless they cause iran to break up into several countries, which is a plan being funded for over 20 years now in secrecy.

FREE IRAN
The American way is based on Injustice, propaganda and lies.
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sat Apr 30, 2011 02:28 PM PDTSo it's easy to see why Superman needed to change his citizenship, when truth justice and the American way are only good enough for imperialists and supporters of fundamentalism, like Jimmy Carter and every president since then.
Freedom and justice, these are the things Americans stole from iran, when they betrayed the Shah and misled Irans prodemocratic idealists. Shah was a good man, not a dictator, a crook, repressive or tyrannical. To be aware of his goodness requires people to be understanding and wise in order to come to terms with his life and what he was about.
