The price
by Arj on Thu Sep 01, 2011 07:42 AM PDTIt's basically the price people have to pay to live under IR; paying for VPNs (which are provided by companies connected to the government and IRGC) in addition to monthly fees to access internet, pay the fine and buy a new receiver when their satellite receiver is seized, pay three times the price for a can of beer and risk public flogging... In simpler terms, this is a way of IRI slapping a mediaval style taxes and levies (which goes back to the Arab/Moslem invasion of Iran) on the secular, middle class Iranians. The religious and less affluent people are either content withouth such luxuries or can join the other side and claim their share of the loot!
in other words

Mr. Javid
by Abarmard on Wed Aug 31, 2011 09:02 PM PDTYou are correct in saying that, but for the fun of the argument let's say that reports that puts Iran in last doesn't take in to account accessibility of Internet for population, which most have VPN and proxy servers and ultimately connected to the www.
In another report Tehran was ranked 2nd to last in the world!!!, visiting Tehran comparing to higher cities in ranking, I would absolutely disagree. Conclusion, these reports don't mean much and life goes on.
Bloody shame...
