The USA media changing their tune !!!
by Marathon-Man on Tue Aug 23, 2011 02:34 AM PDTFew weeks ago Zakaria was trying to prove that Iran's finance is booming despite seeing the country heading down the drain and now another so called professenal analyst is talking about A SUPER power.
He must have been in touch with Mahdi Maood.
Whatch out for these irrisponssible creatures. They just care about their own bloody interests and do not give a damn about human kind.
Nim kaasehy zir kaseh hast. Without a doubt.

by BoosBoos on Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:42 PM PDTGood observations. The one thing I've never been sure about with Turkey is whether it's gravitation to a more religious system has been for show. You have to remember that some militant Arab factions strongly criticize Attaturk for his secular policies and I often wonder if Turkey is just *pretending* to become more religious to gain more clout with certain regional states. Apart from that, you're correct in everything you say.
IRI not strong
by choghok on Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:36 PM PDTOne thing that makes a country strong is to have its people behind its rulers, and that is one thing that you do not need to be a scientist to know that is not the case in Iran. Even without wests embargo on Iran the economic situation was not good, just for mullah families and their nearest ones and the mafia of pasdaran.

by iamfine on Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:48 PM PDTTurkey is the US puppet. Turkey is stable on the surface. There are many minorities there that can cause problem. Besides, majority of Turkish people are fanatics and don’t like to see Western culture and influence in Turkey.
I am guessing that Turkey may become another Islamic republic, very much like Iran.
I hope people who read this
by aynak on Mon Aug 22, 2011 09:05 PM PDTare aware that just prior to Iraq invasion of Kuwait, Iraq's army was tauted as the 4th strongest army in the world. Not a day went by, without the media stating how strong the Iraqi army was and what a powerful man Saddam had become.
Little was known that, this was a simple setup, and all of that got into Saddam's head.
I smell a few things that tells me, Iran will be dragged to a military confrontation, not at all like the one many of us invisioned and most of us fear. But more a Gulf of Tonkin like incdident, perhaps an attempt to aid Syria? With Gaddafi out of the picture, the possibilities are endless.
Corruption inside and out ...
by Kashk on Mon Aug 22, 2011 09:01 PM PDTcan't do business in Iran without payouts, can't do business outside without petro-payouts. This is called growing up?
Turkey without oil not only have gained political strength in the region but also economic. That is called growing up, Iran is on the path of moving down to hell, pay a visit and spend some time there.
Libya -> Syria -> and then Iran ... yipi

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Mon Aug 22, 2011 08:33 PM PDTThe 4 hour a day black outs are ridiculous.

"Iran has grown up!"
by iraj khan on Mon Aug 22, 2011 08:22 PM PDTso says Mr Baer and it's true. Iran has established her dominance in her neighborhood mostly through soft power. Just yesterday an agreement was signed between Iran and Tajikestan indicating Iran will build two power plants for the amount of 250 million dollars.
This comes just after the agreement between Iran and Venezuela. Iran will build thousands of homes there (1 billion dollars contract).
Nonsense …
by Kashk on Mon Aug 22, 2011 08:11 PM PDTOverestimating strength of Iran for a couple of reasons:
1. Israel needs a pariah in the region (now even more than ever after the Arab uprising) to justify receiving US defense $s
2. US to justify the need to stay in Iraq
