In an exclusive interview with RussiaToday, the President of Iran pointed out that the 21st century is about knowledge, while nukes are the means of the past. Iran’s view on the “Arab Spring” and its relations with other countries has also been discussed. Iran’s human rights situation has been a long-standing issue for international organizations, including the United Nations. However, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismisses all criticism. “Human rights are being violated in Europe. The same situation is in the United States, in Asia and Africa," he said. Ahmadinejad admitted that Iran is far from being perfect in terms of freedoms but, he said, his country is “among the best in the world in this respect.”>>>

Bet you, the European hard left will love it. Particularly the part about how we need more freedom in Europe.
Hope IRI won't say tomorrow it was mistranslated. Like gay and holocaust speeches.
Russia comes to help its stooge
by divaneh on Sun Aug 14, 2011 09:51 AM PDTIt's more like a comedy, "The whole world watches how Russia is building our nuclear industry". Yes, indeed, and they can't stop laughing.
Why bother!
by Arj on Sun Aug 14, 2011 07:12 AM PDTMy sentiments exactly GD; why would anyone even bother to interview this guy? He always spends the entire interview sidestepping and dancing around the issues with generic, repeptitive answers and diversionary counter-questioning! In other words, he's there to avoid discussing the issues by evading the questions. Indeed, having watched this interview, one can not feel any more informed than before whatsoever!
How may times?
by ghalam-doon on Sun Aug 14, 2011 06:58 AM PDTI thought lying was prohibited for 'roozeh-daars.' But I guess they find 'kolaah-sharie" for everything...
I wonder what these foreign journalists try to accomplish by interviewing this guy. He says the same thing over and over again in EVERY interview.
And then the foreign journalist conveys that he has actually made him admit the Iranian human rights situation is far from perfect!
The question is does anyone really believe him any more, inside and outside the country? Why bother interviewing this guy?
