Reuters - Iran threatened on Tuesday to stop the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz if foreign sanctions were imposed on its crude exports over its nuclear ambitions, a move that could trigger military conflict with economies dependent on Gulf oil. "If they (the West) impose sanctions on Iran's oil exports, then even one drop of oil cannot flow from the Strait of Hormuz," the official Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi as saying. Rahimi's remarks coincided with a 10-day Iranian naval exercise in the Strait and nearby waters, a show of military force that began on Saturday and coincides with the heightened Western pressure on Tehran >>>

Sadly funny!

The troops and weapons
by Bahram G on Tue Dec 27, 2011 06:02 PM PSTLeft Iraq. Did they all come home or just camped next door in Kuwait?and of course there is Bahrain and the massive US naval power. God help the Iranian people. I desperately hope that the innocent Iranians are not victimized by the zanies running the IRI. Never mind the top brass bootlickers who boast about what they can do. They will probably find holes and crawl in them the minute things look bad. It will be mainly the lower ranks and the civilians who will be killed and maimed. Where is sanity, reason, and reverence for life? None to be found in the dark hearts of the mullahs and their dense heads.
No one would come to IRI's rescue in a war
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Dec 27, 2011 05:28 PM PSTThe USA won't start it, it wants mullahs and the sanctions are really not designed to weaken IRI, like they were designed to weaken Saddams Iraq, because NAM non-alligned-movement & india, brazil, turkey, russia, china trade with Iran. The people of Iran are weakened the most. If IRI closes hormoz, its pretty much going to escalate and IRI will be history, so I doubt it will happen. IRI likes to use the phrase psychological warfare, well this is infact so disingenuous that it matches that description, strengthening IRI's image on a pact of lies.
Majnon has the wisest interpretation, as usual
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Tue Dec 27, 2011 05:20 PM PSTSuicide note indeed. Apocalypse now or later?
Regime's timing might be more based on how fast the Oil sanctions go through. Iranian economy barely moving, just needs a major jolt like this to compeletly stop.
If developments in the next few days move along the same high confrontational path, that might be all both sides need to...
US has been waiting for such an opportunity basically since 1980.

Their greed and their avarice has a way of blinding them to their real threats, they seem to live on a parallel universe of their own...That is a very dangrous development and it often causes miscalculations that lead to war. IRI's ideology (not religion) has always been a suicidal one; melate shaid parvar, shahid shodan is the greates form of art...this might be a self-fulfilling prophecy for IRI after all.
A state of war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny.--Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
IRI suicide note
by divaneh on Tue Dec 27, 2011 05:06 PM PSTIf we are lucky these would be more hot gas and tomorrow the foreign minister will apologize for it.
If not, then it is clear that these idiots are taking Iran on a path of destruction. The war is on the menu. A court in the US has convicted Iran of having had a role in the 9/11 and according to one source has ordered Iran to pay 100 Milliard dollar in damages. That is enough excuse for war on its own.
IRI sees all these developments and knows that the war is inevitable. They know that West will first weaken them through financial sanctions and then hit them. They also know that US has not completed its preparation for the war yet. They are now trying to engage US sooner assuming that US is not prepared and that they may be in a weaker position in the future for a war. This is however a very expensive miscalculation on the side of the regime as these toys that they demonstrate are not a match for a coalition of Western powers. China and Russia will compromise if they get their share of Iran booty.

War will Engulf the World!
by Faramarz on Tue Dec 27, 2011 04:43 PM PSTSure!
China can't even "engulf" Taiwan just off its coast.
And Russia despite all the huff and puff sat there and watched NATO destroy the once all-mighty Serbian Army (Russia's fellow Orthodox Slavs!"

Buy the Oil or Else!

The one in the link below dug a tunnel for the LA underground rail system!

These monster Sorakhkons have been used around the world to make tunnels!
And yes, three is one [tunnel] somewhere in the Middle East to divert the oil shipment away from the straight of Hormuz and all the way into the Sea of Oman just in case the elements of RISH-O-PASHM decide to make trouble...!?!?
I think you can guess which country in the Middle East might have a Lola and a tunnel!
Time is Coming
by jmyt17 on Tue Dec 27, 2011 03:29 PM PSTBy showing their junk IRI plans to close the Strait of Hormuz. Group of dirt with the turbans and bear think can close pipe line of world economy by barking in Arabic.Point right now is we all Iranian inside and outside must have a one voice one word and unite to throw out these barbarian from our home land.
To think that the United States does not have contingency
by Onlyiran on Tue Dec 27, 2011 02:25 PM PSTplans to stop the IRI from closing the Strait of Hormuz in the event of a conflict is nothing short of foolish. The U.S. will probably obliterate every single naval base, ship, submarine and boat that Iran has in a couple of hours, and before the mullahs can adjust their turbans so that they can pick up the phone and give the "closure" orders.
This kind of show is only good for the 'bisavad' Basijis, Lebanes Hussain Munif Ashmars of the world, and a group of idiots on Iranian.com.
Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures!
by G. Rahmanian on Tue Dec 27, 2011 02:18 PM PSTDesperate, the bankrupt regime is willing to sacrifice one or two million lives just to stay in power! There's only one way to stop the regime from provoking yet another war: Iranians must unite and overthrow it! If the regime is successful in starting a war, any war, Iranians must turn their guns against the murderers in power! Helping the regime in its war effort is an act of treason.
Closing the Strait of Hurmoz?
by Bahram G on Tue Dec 27, 2011 01:17 PM PSTWouldn't that be like shooting yourself in the belly? I mean, you're a hand to mouth gas station and you need to get the oil out through the Strait to support your rotten life. Close it and no dollars. Is imam Hussein going to let your tankers through and clog the others. Did he promise that during your last supplication at Karbala? Get serious you clowns and beat it. Leave the long-suffering Iranians alone. They don't deserve you. Nobody does.

No it won't. I heard the bull about a global war from others. Who are the sides in this "global war" you guys have predicted for years? Russia; China or what? China has so much trades with USA it will never risk it. Russia is in no position to do anything.
Most of the world hates IRI. That includes most Iranian people. Not one nation will lift a finger to help them. Russia and China may grumble. But they know oil must flow and sympathize with US. I bet they all breath a sight of relief.
What is it with this IRI, the most clueless bunch of maymoons
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Dec 27, 2011 01:01 PM PSTTo ever lie their way to power. Lies don't work so well when you are confronted with a real power. When I see this, it reminds me that despite the USA wanting to do eveything to keep the IRI, the IRI itself is so backwards that it may start a process that could escalate and lead to its removal. The Regimes Stupidity should never be discounted, it is the one bright ray of hope during the dark days of Iran. I'm not too sure how fair a fight it would be, 1 US Apachi helicopter against a hovercraft with motorcycle riders on it with steel clubs and guns. Allah-u-akbar isn't going to help out one bit.

They can't do anything!
by ilovechelokebab on Tue Dec 27, 2011 12:13 PM PSTThe hell with this dirty regime! What the hell can they do? They have no military and out of date hardware from Russia! One Navy Seal can take on a thousand fucking Pasdars and 3000 dirty Basiji thugs! They are tough guys when they are tormenting innocent unarmed and non violent protesters but let us see what they can do in a fair fight! And I think we will see it pretty soon. This regime is finished and has been finished. A regime that stays in power by violence is nothing! I don't want to see any fighting but the IRI thugs do because they can't do anything else.
Islamist warmongers
by Fred on Tue Dec 27, 2011 12:06 PM PSTIslamist Rapists are playing with fire. It would be ok if they were risking their own skin, after all its their skin and they can do with it as they wish.
However, they are once again jeopardizing Iranain lives and that is not ok at all.
The sane world must help Iranians overthrow these warmongers.
