BBC: The US Senate has unanimously approved economic sanctions on Iran targeting the country's oil industry, despite warnings the move could backfire. The measures, passed by 100 votes to nil, would ban foreign firms from doing business with the Iranian central bank. President Barack Obama has been cautious about harsher sanctions, fearing such a move could disrupt the oil markets at a time of economic uncertainty for many Americans, and alienate potential allies. US officials have also warned that depriving global markets of Iranian exports could send oil prices sharply higher, gifting Tehran a funding boost. >>>

vildemose, hamayesh
by hamsade ghadimi on Fri Dec 02, 2011 08:37 AM PSTvildemose,
hamayesh bozorg is a "conference" where iranian expats are invited to iran (expenses fully paid after one is vetted) to participate in a gathering where iri officials try to illicit investments from expats to bypass any sanctions that western countries put on iri. the last one (the second of its kind) was held this past summer. here's the website for it: //congress.iranianshouse.ir/
they also hold sessions on how to confront western media (even places like i.com). one of casmii cofounders, rostam pourzal, moderated such session: //registration.iranianshouse.ir/registerCong/viewPlanDetail.aspx?id=13
there was even poetry reading by ahmadinejad and mashaii talking at length about 'maktab iran' as opposed to the clergy's 'maktab islam.'
Actually the best
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 02, 2011 08:31 AM PSTway to break the IRI central bank is now gone. It was to get them in on the real estate scam. You know the same on that is killing EU right now. Then not bail them out when they need it.
Now to really wreck them send Larry Summers and the Harvard economic team. You know the one which ruined the Russian economy under Yeltsin. But he is busy wrecking America. I am being a bit sarcastic but isolating them may be a blessing.
Meanwhile the once mighty Europe is in shambles itself. Greece is so desperate as to go begging IRI for oil on credit. //www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2068510/Gr...

in real life.
People of ultimate influence, from aerospace, lawyers specializing in genetics to medics and historians.
So, I really mean this: thank you for reconfirming my previous moral convictions. But sadly, this is at the expence of the majority of Iranian people inside and outside of Iran.
My offerings were of a lapse of sentimental judgement.
Good Luck to you all.
Again, thank you. I shall stick to the little bits of help that I can provide immediately without the dumb hassle, without airs and graces, but I shall never get involved with any of you people in any way.

by Roozbeh_Gilani on Fri Dec 02, 2011 06:55 AM PSTMust be confusing the heck out of Khamenei, and his "president" plus "parliament" elects' feeble minds. To him it would be like: " How could this bunch of senators who were personaly selected by Obama, disagree with him? why dont they end up in Gizmo ? Why dont they turn up on Fox TV confessing to be the spies and agents of China? Why, oh Why..."
BTW, good move by US senate. Next, I want an airtight bycott of khamenei/Ahmadinezhad's oil export.

Yeah, just look at it so far without me.
I'm live serious about this. If any consortium wants to, I'm happy to introduce them to investment institutions that have dealt with long-standing trusts.
(To avoid the usual bickering, there is a limit of a specific amount of individual investment and there can be a consortium within a consortium...)
I'll even do a write up for each manifesto. Just get free legal consultation from one of those successful law Iranian people around.

IRI's Opposition, here's your chance:
by Tiger Lily on Fri Dec 02, 2011 02:22 AM PSTGet a minimum of one consortium (transnational) together now, gather a minimum of £60 grand together (that's just 60 people per consortium, with a grand, that's all you need) to get yourself a proper safe but fast investment company (of course, with a bit of off shore paddling peddling). Hedge your bets right across the market and pull out together...
Go for it! Do it, before the likes of Halliburton start to "invest". Get the country back to Iranians, eventually with co-operatives, the whole country working together for the country.
Live and act the dream!
