Dirty Angel

LOL!!! TED talks are becoming more idiotic by the day!

by Dirty Angel on

This guy is so confused, I had to laugh out of fear  - he teaches at a university? That IS scary!

Btw there is no such thing as "evil".

"If they chew you up, they still have to spit you out "

Immortal Guard

Since you like Bertolt Brecht here are some quotes:

by Immortal Guard on

  • Don't be afraid of death so much as an inadequate life.
  • It is easier to rob by setting up a bank than by holding up a bank clerk.
  • Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are.
  • No one can be good for long if goodness is not in demand.
  • Right is its own defense.
  • Sometimes it's more important to be human, than to have good taste.
  • The defeats and victories of the fellows at the top aren't always defeats and victories for the fellows at the bottom.
  • Whenever there are great virtues, it's a sure sign something's wrong.

Jahanshah Javid

The Situation

by Jahanshah Javid on

The situation: Islamic Republic, with no respect for different/opposing thoughts

Who's in charge: Religious leaders who routinely lie and encourage action against any one who dares to question.

The victims: All those who are under the spell. All those who blindly follow. Those who murder and torture with the encouragement of authorities.

Mash Ghasem

" Pity the country that needs heros"

Bertolt Brecht.

Psychology of Heroism!

by Immortal Guard on

  • As a hero you have to be convinced that you are right not righteous.
  • As a hero you don't have to consider your act as being heroic but the natural right thing to do!
  • As a hero you have to have a good understanding of the malignancy of the situation before you act to correct it!
  • As a hero it helps if you have had some concrete evidence of people who have had the courage to do something about it and have succeeded!
  • As a hero you have to realize that authority figures are also like most other people. In other words you have to realize the ingrained habit of most humans to have unjustified reverence for authority figures.
  • As a hero you have to understand that the well-being of your fellow human beings will contribute to your own well-being.
  • As a hero you have to be prepared for a fight and its consequences! So one should assess one's side and the other side carefully.

Just my three cents!
