Reuters -- Iran showed off new missile and satellite technology on Monday, and told its enemies it had "complete domination" of the entrance to the oil-rich Gulf. As part of Iran's annual revolution celebrations, a time traditionally marked by new technological and military advances, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled locally-made satellites while a senior commander showed off mass-produced missiles. Although Iran is not engaged in any military conflict, it is on constant alert against possible attacks from the United States and Israel which have not ruled out possible pre-emptive strikes to stop Tehran getting nuclear weapons >>>

Technology is good for us
by Fair on Tue Feb 08, 2011 09:14 AM PSTI agree Kooshan, even if much of this technology started its way to Iran from China and NK, the more domestic control we have over any defence technology the better. The Shah started this with the US and the west, that was the right thing to do then, and it is the right thing to do now as well. So if for now we are stuck with less capable sources of technology, it is still better to use that than nothing. I NEVER want to see Iran again in a situation that we were put in by the mullahs with Iraq- being bombed and invaded and attacked by barbarians, and at the same time isolated and desperate for foreign parts and equipment to defend ourselves. We need to be self sufficient for our basic defense needs. Imam Zaman didn't do squat for us back then, and cannot be counted on today either:)
Now if only we could add to that a government which actually is answerable to the people of Iran and our rights, that would be better, and we could actually gain true strength. We will get there. Feb 14th everybody, don't forget!
Guys......either have some substance to say or hold your breath!
by Kooshan on Mon Feb 07, 2011 09:38 PM PSTThis arrogance will only blind you to see the truth......be fair...be proud of achievements some youth of coutry has achieved. And, if one day the nation decide to have a different political landscape, it will only be possible with a STRONG IRAN!

did anyone catch "made in PRC" logo
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Feb 07, 2011 03:03 PM PSTon these "locally made" islamist wonders? Or were they deleted by the manufacturer to keep the much more lucrative business with Wall Mart going and not hurting islamist leadership's ego?
"Personal business must yield to collective interest."
Did anyone catch Vahidi's Arabic accent?
by Anonymous Observer on Mon Feb 07, 2011 03:13 PM PSTListen to the way he pronounces "haleghaat," with the heavy emphasis on the "h" sound--which is the way native Arabic speakers pronounce it (at 0:04 of the video).
