Ahmadinejad promises land for families

1,000 sq. meters per family

(MNA) -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced a new plan which envisages the allocation of a 1000-meter land to every Iranian family to construct a villa and grow gardens. The president made the announcement during a ceremony held at Tehran on Sunday. Ahmadinejad also announced that the plan will be prepared by the end of the current Iranian calendar year 1390, which will end on March 19, 2012.

Where else do you get a complete nut job like him that fights the Mollahs. It is either AN or MEK. I rather see AN go at it against the IRI than MEK. The man is not just insane but also delusional. 

I would keep him around even after IRI is gone as a circus freak. You will never find another loony to match him.

Stop looking for the water and khiyar... you are missing the point ( as usual ).

1- The main issue here is  " home ownership ".

2- Ahmadinejad has invested heavily in " Mehr Maskan " and one million Iranians have registered for it ( cheap housing ).

3- With subsidy elimination, home prices should increase due to building materials becoming more expensive.

How do you think Ahmadinejad's anouncement about giving free land away would affect the above ? 

Think ....  its all in front of you. Are you still chasing halos?

He uses these announcements to stay in news and attract attention, and also find some supporters.  He does not have any religious base or history of revolutionary activity and last election left people with a lead taste in mouth. So for him to have supporters, these announcements are way to go. I don't trust any of them. One day you read that he is against "tafkeek jensi" in universities. Next day he gives land away. If he gets more weakened, we will read more interesting announcements. One of these days we may wake up and read that AN is against "Hejab Ejbari". Actually, that would be a good one for him, especially if he could back it with something from religion.

Why is it that Iranian men in their 50’s and 60’s become avid gardeners?

Under this plan every Iranian gets a parcel of land to grow fruits and vegetables and raise their own herd of goats or sheep!

Effectively, the oil-based economy will be transformed overnight by leapfrogging the Industrial Age and Information Age straight into Agricultural Age!
