Behzad Ranjbaran's short choral work based on Persian classic poet Sa'adi

New York's oldest choir Musica Sacra performs an a capella concert dedicated to contemporary composers at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Behzad Ranjbaran's short choral work based on Persian classic poet Sa'adi "Bani Adam" is the only one performed in Persian. In an interview with VOA Persian TV's Behnam Nateghi, conductor Kent Tritle says everyone needs to be reminded of Sa'adi's words all the time, and composer Ranjbaran says the importance of the words dictated to him that they should be sung in their original Persian.

I don't want to squeeze any of my friends' Persian soft spots here............but in order to read Sadi with a comfortable level of comprehension some kind of knowledge of basic Arabic and Quranic language is a must...........

...........And then, what Creation ladies and gentlemen?..........have you already forgotten?.........We are Secccccccccccularrrrrrrrrr........

Our Iranian (Persian) culture. If akhoonds have been trying to ruin this culture I must say there have been Iranian lovers who have promoted our culture. Such a wonderful!
