There's a simple measurement for how much thugish one can be

in IR: if you're pro AN, happy with the status quo, and visit Kahrizak THE PRISON, to see first hand how the business is done, there's a very good chance you're a thug. Unless he went there to do some Anthropological field work, on IR's methods of sodomy and torture on the dissenters. Please elaborate and enlighten.

How stupid can you be to get yourself killed over a traffic violation?  You should never get out of your car to confront some stranger, anywhere, anytime!  What the hell are the police for?

I went to an IHOP restaurant a few days ago.  It was around 3-4am.  There were a lot of young guys coming out the entrance.  I think that they were partying or something.  They must have been extremely drunk because they were blocking the sidewalk while they smoked their cigarettes.  They weren't responding to me when I asked them to move out of the way politely.  Part of me wanted to say, "Get the f*ck out of my way, you asshole" but then I realized I better not get myself killed, haha. 

Anyway, it turns out that literally right down the street there had been a murder behind an apartment complex.  Some guy had been stabbed to death over God knows what.  Thank God that I didn't try to pick a fight.

I had a phone conversation with somebody who somewhat knew Marhoom Dadashi.  According to him he was truely a gentle giant.  He was a none political person although he made some political statemnts.  I think you also twisted the events some what the way you wanted to present him, and this is not part of your charactristic, and i was disappointed.  About drugs, I think you went too far without providing any documnets and any reliable sources.  In fact you behaved very much like a typical Iranian, who can lie and fabricate without providing any resources or documents for his or her claims.  I was truely disappointed.  You and other Iranians sometimes have too much expectations from people who can not deliver what you and me expect.  According to my friend, Dadashi was an ordinary person with a big heart and was a gentle person.  Siamack, I want to give you some examples below to show to you and other Iranians that not every athlete should be expected to be a Takhti:

1.  Very very few of American athletes ever are critical of US policies any given time.

2.  The greatest athletes of all times like Pele, or Jerzinho never were critical of Berizilian government or the death squats in Brezil when all the basic human rights were vilolated in Brazil.

3.  Likewise were Argantine footballers when death squads were active in Argantina.

4.  Never a French athlete crticized French government for atrocites committed by French army in Algeria.

5.  No Israeli athlete ever crticized the government of Israeil for its policies toward Palesinians.

6.  The great Soviet athletes like Alexander Medvid, Alexiov, Karpov, and so on never criticized the Soviet system.

7.  No Turkish athlete ever have criticized the Turkish government's policies toward Kurds and other maniorities.

8.  How many British athletes have ever criticized the British government for her policies toward Ireland?

Both sides of the issue

First, imo, Siamak is right to draw attention to Dasdashi's true nature and less than "javaan-mard" activities in support of the regime in Iran. Most likely, Dadashi would and should have to answer and held accountable for his actions in a court of law, in a free future Iran.

On the other hand, while I'm not going to shed any tears over this, wanton acts of murder are not the way to fight those who support the regime in Iran, regardless of how vile their characters might be. This is especially the case when the murderers are nothing but a bunch of thugs/criminals themselves.

Our aim and core belief should be to do away with everything the Islamic Republic stands for. It should not be to become like the Islamic Republic.

Do not mix things up please. It is human nature to hero worship. The attention Dashti gets in no way takes away from the tragedy of IRI victims.

A while ago I posted a blog about the great Iranian Ahmad Kasravi. At the same time my good friend DK posted about Tony Curtis. Now my blog got vastly fewer posts. I do not blame this on IRI. It just happens that Tony Curtis was a celebrity and Kasravi was not. Was I disappointed: yes you bet. Was I surprised: not at all. This is not because of mind control or brainwashing. It is human nature. Dashti brought some badly needed pride to Iranians. So he gets the attention. Good for him.

My condolences to his family. Also SK does have a point. Many Iranians voted for AN. Let us say he got 30 % of the vote. I do not think that is in question. Does that mean 30% of Iranians who voted are thugs: No! It means they voted for AN for their reasons. It is not their fault the election was stolen. We must not allow our hatred of IRI turn into hatred of one another. We have enough problems as is. Without making more, In a democratic Iran people like AN will still get votes.

شما جوان هستید، چرا این كارها را انجام می‌دهید. این حرفها، حرفهای من
نیست. بلكه حرفهای آنهایی است كه این جنایت بزرگ را انجام داده‌اند.

* چگونه از ماجرا خبردار شدید؟

ساعت 12 و 15 دقیقه شنبه شب بود كه من در خانه نشسته بودم كه جنازه
روح‌الله را به در خانه آوردند و به من گفتند علی بیا كه برادرت را
زده‌اند. باور كنید در آن لحظه انگار یك سرم 100 لیتری به پایم زدند و همه
شیره وجودم را كشیدند. شلوار گرمكنی كه همیشه در 5 ثانیه می‌پوشیدم را در
15 دقیقه نتوانستم به تن كنم وقتی جلوی در رسیدم دیدم روح‌الله را به
بیمارستان رسانده‌اند. خودم را به بیمارستان و بالای سر روح‌الله رساندم
اما دیگر او تمام كرده بود.

* اولین حرفی كه بالای سر روح‌الله در بیمارستان زدی چه بود؟
- فریاد كشیدم یا حسین. چون دقیقاً چاقو و خنجر را در گلوی او فرو كرده بودند.

* فكرش را می‌كردی كه اینهمه مردم برای مراسم تشییع جنازه روح‌الله به حصارك بیایند؟
-
راستش نه. فكر می‌كردم شاید تعداد جمعیت اندكی بیشتر از تشییع جنازه پدرم
باشد، اما مردم با حضور خودشان ما را شرمنده كردند كه از همه آنها ممنونم.

* از پدرتان گفتید، بیشتر در این باره حرف می‌زنید؟

حادثه روح‌الله درست دو روز بعد از مراسم چهلم پدر من اتفاق افتاد. ما
تازه 2 روز بود كه از سیاه درآمده بودیم كه دوباره برای روح‌الله سیاهپوش
شدیم، اما این غم برای من با همه غم‌های دنیا فرق می‌كند. من یك عمر برای
روح‌الله مشكی خواهم پوشید.

شنیده‌ایم كه هنرمندان برنامه فتیله، یعنی همان برنامه‌ای كه آخرین بار
روح‌الله در آن حضور پیدا كرد، هنوز از اتفاقی كه برای او افتاده متاثر

- او هنوز نمی‌داند كه چه بر سر عمویش آمده است. او دیروز بهانه می‌گرفت كه مادرش او را بر سر خاك برد تا اندكی آرام بگیرد.

* واكنش آرین 5 ساله بعد از آن برنامه چه بود؟

او و روح‌الله جمعه به آن برنامه رفتند و خیلی با روحیه به خانه برگشتند.
به طوری كه آرین همچنان از آن برنامه یك ساعته تلویزیونی برای ما و خانواده
تعریف می‌كرد.

* روح‌الله به جز رشته پرورش اندام و قویترین مردان رشته ورزشی دیگری را هم دنبال می‌كرد؟
- بله، او یك والیبالیست بسیار خوب هم بود، بطوری كه در تیم والیبال هنرمندان هم بازی می‌كرد.

* قصد نداشتید، دستی برای روح‌الله بالا بزنید؟

چرا و این مساله را با خود او هم در میان گذاشته بودیم و قرار بود كه بعد
از مسابقات جهانی گرجستان او را به جمع متاهلین اضافه كنیم.

* شرایط روح‌الله برای مسابقات جهانی گرجستان چگونه بود؟
-
او با توجه به مسابقات جهانی گرجستان كه شهریور ماه برگزار می‌شد از
آمادگی بالایی برخوردار بود و روز به روز هم بر میزان آمادگی افزوده می‌شد و
ما امیدوار بودیم كه او می‌تواند در گرجستان عنوان شایسته‌ای را برای
جمهوری اسلامی ایران به دست بیاورد.


* اینكه می‌گویند روح‌الله می‌خواست در رقابت‌های پرورش اندام شركت كند تا چه اندازه صحت دارد؟
- بله او قصد این كار را داشت و می‌خواست در پرورش اندام به روی صحنه بیاید كه دیگر مرگ به او مهلت نداد.


* حضور مردم را در مراسم تشییع چگونه ارزیابی می‌كنید؟

مردم ایران مثل همیشه نشان دادند كه قدرشناس قهرمانان و پهلوانان خود
هستند. این روزها كسانی به خانه ما برای عرض تسلیت می‌آیند كه ما را به
نوعی غافلگیر می‌كنند. مردم از همه جای ایران به خانه ما می‌آیند از سیستان
و بلوچستان، لرستان، بندر گناوه، اصفهان، شیراز و همه شهرهای ایران.

* علی داداشی از این پس چگونه روزگار خواهد گذراند؟
-
هنوز نمی‌توانم باور كنم كه روح‌الله را از دست داده‌ام. نمی‌دانم كه از
این پس باید چكار كنم. از خداوند مرگم را هر لحظه آرزو می‌كنم، چرا كه بدون
روح‌الله زندگی كردن دیگر برای من معنایی ندارد.

* در غم فراغ پدر، روح‌الله چگونه تاب تحمل آورد؟
-
روح‌الله آدم روزهای سخت بود. او كسی بود كه هرگز ناراحتی‌اش را بروز
نمی‌داد، اما از غم پدر به خلوت می‌رفت و برای او گریه می‌كرد و من هم
متوجه این كار او می‌شدم، چرا كه روح‌الله را من بزرگ كرده بودم.

* از خاطرات با روح‌الله بودن بگویید؟
-
یكی از خاطرات خوب من مربوط به مسابقات جهانی قشم می‌شود. او در آنجا با
غیرتی مثال زدنی، كاری كرد، كارستان كه من آنجا نیز برای او خیلی گریه
كردم. او با دستانی پاره مسابقه داد تا به همه نشان دهد كه غیرت ایرانی چیز
دیگری است. روح‌الله بعد از آن مسابقات پرچم پرافتخار را بر روی شانه خود
انداخت و با آن دور افتخار زد تا عظمت ایران و ایرانی را به رخ جهانیان
بكشاند.

* تكلیف شاگردان روح‌الله چه می‌شود؟
-
تا زنده هستم اجازه نمی‌دهم كه چراغ باشگاه روح‌الله خاموش شود. من
می‌خواهم ادامه دهنده راه روح‌الله باشم و بتوانم پهلوانهای زیادی را به
مردم معرفی كنم. من از این پس مسئولیت بزرگتری بر روی دوش خود احساس می‌كنم
و می‌خواهم برای شروع دوباره جوانانی با خصوصیات روح‌الله را پیدا كرده و
با آنها كار كنم تا جای خالی روح‌الله كمتر احساس شود.

* برای مردم چه پیامی دارید؟

من خاك پای این مردم هستم. كف پای آنها را می‌بوسم و برای همیشه سپاسگزار
محبت آنها خواهم بود. چرا كه آنها روح‌الله را مانند برادر و فرزند خود
دوست داشتند و این برای من افتخاری بس بزرگ بود.

-تشكر می‌كنم از رئیس و نایب رئیس فدراسیون و همه مردم ایران كه آمدند و تسلی خاطر ما شدند.آنها بزرگی و عظمت خودشان را نشان دادند و برای همیشه ما را مدیون محبتهای خود ساختند.ضمن اینكه از تمامی رسانه‌هایی كه در این روزها حق مطلب را به خوبی ادا كرده‌اند،هم نهایت سپاسگزاری را دارم.

But good observation of the degree of control regime has on society that so few show up for their real hero's , and so many show up for the regimes men.

This regime change game is going to be a longer struggle than I thought, upon reflection.

To win we need unity as an entire society, not thugs, but tens upon tens of small skiny short humans with a heart.  It's the unity thats tough to create.

I say Iran first, lets unite behind that concept, not islam, not democracy, not monarchy, not anything political or divisive, but Iran.

then and only then lets, bring in ideals that have at least 70% support, like freedom, justice and independence, 

then lastly if we think we can maintain unity, lets go for a political solution.

Face it folks,,,

We do know that the guy supported Ahmadinejad. That's the least we know.

The fact is, someone like this dude gets killed in a street/road rage/whatever you want to call it fight, and all those people turn out for his funeral.

Then, someone like Hoda Saber, or Haleh Sahabi die due to injustice (and these are people who fought for justice for Iranians), and not many turn out for Hoda Saber's funeral and nobody says anything when they cancel Haleh Sahabi's "chelleh".

I ask you, what's wrong with that picture?

I'll ask you this as well: Who is/are the hero(es) here? Dadashi, or Saber/Sahabi (or others who have died for the cause of a free Iran)?

I think this is what Siamack has tried to convey here.

1-There is nothing wrong with being a basiji. (definitions vary)

2- There is no evidence supporting the claim that he was involved in the torture and/or death of any demonstrators.

3- How do we know who started the fight which led to his death? What if the scene was staged for a hired job?

Until some valid documentation is presented, this article remains a hollow accusation.
