AFP: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday warned the authorities against making arrests of members in his government whom he vowed to defend, IRNA state news agency reported. "I consider defending the cabinet as my duty... the cabinet is a red line and if they want to touch the cabinet, then defending it is my duty," Ahmadinejad was quoted as telling reporters after a cabinet meeting. "Our position is one of silence but in any case if they want to continue it and under different pretexts want to accuse our colleagues in the cabinet, then I have a legal, national and ethical duty to defend my colleagues," he said >>>

by Roozbeh_Gilani on Wed Jun 29, 2011 04:05 PM PDTDoes this thieving, stupid little monkey even know the meaning of any of these words? I doubt.
I do however wish him no harm at the hands of khamenei's gang. I wish him good health, until the day of reckoning, when I'd be happy to personally carry him, all the way to the gallows, where the mother of one of the martyrs of the post election uprising, those martyrs he called "dust and dirt", would be waiting to kick the chair off and send him dangling to his final destiny, hell.

AN without power will have few supporters.
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed Jun 29, 2011 01:12 PM PDTI can't help but smile when I read this kind of news. Like a commentator noted in thread of Mr. Bagherzadeh's article, it is good for the people. When Khomeini got rid of Banisadr, people did not make a big deal of it since Banisadr was just as bad as khomeini but in different clothing. AN is the same story. My prediction is that not many people will care if AN is gone. If there will be a movement, it will be against IRI but not because AN will be gone. It will not be like Green movement either when those not in favor of Moussavi, temporarily backed him. AN without power will have few supporters.
Can't dismiss the election
by Ari Siletz on Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:59 PM PDTThere must be some among Ahmadi's ordinary-folk supporters who did not vote for him as just a proxy for Khamenei, and they may take their vote as seriously as the Greens. This piles on top of the already substantial grass roots opposition to Khamenei. Fagheehniks may end up with something worse than a black eye in this scuffle.
hmm!??! curious times...any predictions?
by Sheila K on Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:43 PM PDTI see some kind of an anti-mullah conversion from inside even within hardline puppets like AN and former ones like Mousavi. In my recent trip to Iran, people's anger toward Mullah and IRI was very noticeable more so than any other time I can remember since the inception of IRI.
Adding people's anger plus internal anti-mullah movement can mean a serious change in the future. I for one like to see the eradiction of Hejab enforcement. That would the day!!

From the looks of it, AN will be a room-mate of Mousavi or Kahrobi in the near future.
Wouldn't that be ironic :)
