Reuters: Iran will complain to world soccer’s governing body FIFA after its women’s team were banned from a qualifying game for next year’s Olympics due to their Islamic dress, the ISNA news agency reported on Sunday. The Iranian team were banned from a match against Jordan shortly before the game was due to start in Amman on Friday, Iran’s state-run Press TV reported. Jordan were awarded a 3-0 win in the second-round qualifying match. “We will file a complaint to FIFA against the official in charge of the matches,” Ali Kafashian, head of Iran’s football federation, was quoted as saying by the student news agency ISNA >>>

//espn.go.com/sports/soccer/news/_/id/6634508/iran-president-blasts-headscarf-ban-calls-fifa-dictators
Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described FIFA as "dictators" on Tuesday for a headscarf ban in soccer that affects the women's team.
The Iran team forfeited a 2012 Olympic qualifier against Jordan on Friday because it wouldn't play without the hijabs.
"Theses are the dictators and colonialists who want to impose their lifestyle on others," Ahmadinejad said at a news conference.

It is amazing that Khamenei is not a dictator, but FIFA officials are dictators! AN is delusional! He is funny too, he has a vivid imagination! I could not make a connection between soccer, dictators, and colonialists! OMG!

FIFA and IRI don't belong to the same category! Please don't put them in the same category......I have too much respect for the sport, for soccer......soccer brings the world together.....soccer brings so much joy to the world!
IRI acts like the center of the universe......IRI wanted FIFA to bend the rules for her, for one country! Come on, be real!
IRI loves to use FIFA! I recall that IRI wanted FIFA to ban the Iranian soccer players for wearing green wristband at last World Cup qualifing match (Iran vs. S. Korea)...Ali Kaimi is one of the players..IRI wanted her players banned 'cause they support opposition........FIFA did not ban those players....Ha Ha!
Right now IRI is whining about the ban this time!

There is no such a thing as Chadoor in the arabic world .... It is " Abaya" which is actually more practical that the retarded chadoor .. but even the Abaya is only being worn by the Vahhabbis and Shei arabs .... others do not wear it much ....... and not all muslims are even arabs .....
The gift of Chadoor , however, was given to us by our sweet Zorasterian ancesters ..... it is as persian as it can get ... sorry to break the news ...

Girls should be free to decide if they want to participate
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Jun 07, 2011 06:35 AM PDTbased on FIFA rules for all women.
If they would rather not take off their tracksuit and head scarf and forfeit the games that should be their choice.
But if they want to dress like all the other ladies and participate then IRI should allow them the freedom to choose to play with standards dress.
Fifa's dress atire is not imposing unfair rules on women, so I disagree with soosan khanoom.
All sports for both men and women have a dress code. They are standard and sensible.
Chador doesn't even fit with persian culture, its arabic all the way to the invasion of Iran.

FIFA says the ban on the Islamic scarf covering a women's neck is for safety reasons.
Mustafa Musleh Zadeh says Iran will complain to the Asian Football Federation.
He called FIFA's ban "extremism," similar to Afghanistan's Taliban restrictions on women in sports.
FIFA banned the hijab in 2007 and has extended the safety rule to include neck warmers.
At the 2010 Youth Olympics, Iran's girls protected their modesty by covering their hair with specially designed caps.

Why should these girls even being allowed to be treated as the third party here ?
FIFA dress code for safety issues is as ridicules as IRI, religious fanatics, dress code for safety issue ...
We have these girls ready to go and now they are banned for no good reason .....

Shame on IRI
shame on FIFA

Guys and Gals, FYI Title is Incorrect,
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Mon Jun 06, 2011 11:43 PM PDTWomens Soccer Team NOT BANNED.
If they Dress appropriately they can play, what their government chooses to do is their decision, but make no mistake they are not banned, just required to play by the rules everyone else has to play by.
Dress and attire is listed for most games, you can not wear for example running shoes on a tennis court.. or you forfeit... I happen to know that one because I'm into tennis.
Sends a positive message to IRI and Iranians, you can't play life by your own rules. Few people honestly admire rules that are enforced by a group of murderous, corrupt, lying, cheating, tyranical mullahs who hold little to no popular support anyways.

FIFA rejects Iran complaint over ban on Islamic head scarf in women’s 2012 Olympic qualifiers
ZURICH — FIFA says its match officials were right to stop Iran’s women’s team from playing a 2012 Olympic qualifier wearing Islamic head scarves.
Iranian officials were “informed thoroughly” before Friday’s match against Jordan that the hijab scarf covering a women’s neck is banned for safety reasons, FIFA says.
Iran’s soccer association has said it will complain about the FIFA delegate from Bahrain who ordered the match abandoned.
Jordanian officials accepted the rule and “decided not to select a number of players,” FIFA says.
FIFA banned the hijab in 2007 and has extended the safety rule to include neck warmers.
At the 2010 Youth Olympics, Iran’s girls protected their modesty by covering their hair with specially designed caps.
