Roozbeh_Gilani sorry you feel insulted.
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sat May 28, 2011 03:34 PM PDTMy point, yes it is up to patriotic Iranians to defend their fellow citizes from IRI fascism, but your comment is in serious denial of reaity.
Iranians are in this mess, because they betrayed the Shah, who was doing good for Iran. They did this under several pretexts 1) He was a dictator, tyrant, despot 2) he was a violent man who's policy was to torture his subjects.
Refuting these 2 lies doesn't make me a hezbollah or IRI sympathizer. You thinking that I am makes me realize Iran is more backward than I ever imagined, politically speaking.
The most patriotic people Iran had in my opinion were the Shah and the team of people who served iran under his leadership, specifically because freedom and human rights mattered to them.
Patriotic Iranians Roozbeh were a rarity in Iran, certaily the masses that brought khomeini to power were not patriotic, they with their pro-democracy friends in the west are the cause of tyranny and torture in Iran, they helped bring them to power.
To be a Patriotic Iranian, is to care for peace, freedom and the truth above all
else. In which case all the politically motivated lies spread about the Shah to remove him and his patriotic team from power could not have succeeded if Iranians cared about the truth, ie "were truly patriotic" because Shah was not a dictator, nor was he a man of violence/torture.
Shah was an autocrat and he had developed the institutions that flourish when democracy is not present, yet despotism/tyranny is not present too.
My basic point is based on the thoughts/ideas of socrates, ignorance leads towards evil, knowledge and wisdom towards good. To be patriotic, you need to be knowledgeable and wise, educated in definitions at the very least and have integrity.
If Iranians had these qualities, the revolution would not have happened in the first place and iran would not have gone from good towards evil.
The argument that Shah was a despotic tyrant was false and most educated knowledgeabe people know this to be true.
Iranians made the mistake in 1979 and are livng with the consequences, just too many of the unpatriotic people of then, are still unaware they made a miistake and that was the purpose of my respose to your post my frustration is clearly evident, I wish people would learn to think and care for integrity.

by Roozbeh_Gilani on Sat May 28, 2011 10:00 AM PDTMr "amirparviz........", Your increasing personal attacks betray a deep sense of anger and frustration. This coming from someone like you, claiming to be a "Monarchist", yet subtly (so you think!) pushing the islamist regime's line of propaganda to the letter , gives me a deep sense of satisfaction that my time on this site has not been an absolute waste!
So as I repeat, Loud and clear and in bold letters to make the burning sensation at your rear passage even stronger, as I know you like it :)
"The political prisoners of the islamist fascist regime, regardless of
their ideology, deserve unconditional support of every single one of us patriotic Iranians."
"Personal business must yield to collective interest."
Sounds patronizing ...

Perhaps not intended but amirparvizforsecularmonarchy sounds as patronizing and haughty as Mr Khatimi on his Friday sermon. I don’t often find myself in accord with Rozbeh’s comments but in this occasion I share his sentiment.
Roozbeh_Gilani I really Laughed at your niave comment... LOL...

Sweety.... How to enlighten you???
If Iran was overflowing with patriotic Iranians we wouldn't have any political prisoners today. By Iranian stadards If we were at all patriotic, we would care for peace, freedom and the truth above all else.
Its exactly because based on even our own Iranian standards, we Iranians proved what an unpatriotic, ungrateful and gutless people we are that we have this regime in power and are many of us living in Freedom, yet in exile.
I'm having this debate on this other post, where after 30 years I am still having to educate people what a dictator is, what the Shah was and how he was not a dictator, how Savak was not into torture etc etc... people forget it was unpatriotic lies like this, that many people on this site continue to propogate that had Iran lose its short period of increasing peace, prosperity, human rights and freedom.
Thank you very much for posting this
