Civil society exists, repressed, corrupted & under dictatorship
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Mon Oct 17, 2011 05:26 PM PDTyet tiger lily it still exists. It also existed in Germany before, during and after hitlers fascism. And stalins russia. What we have in Iran is the result of many forces, the greatest one being neocolonialism. The secretary of defense of the UK had to resign recently, because his friend was activily pursuing regime change in Iran as a lobbyist for Israel in opposition to UK policy. The USA/UK have no intention of changing their policy for north africa and the middle east.
The West loves "the hezbolah party in Iran" to the same degree that they hated the late shah and helped overthrow Irans constitution and government, using the myths of corruption, repression, dictatorship & violation of human rights to achieve their machiavellian aims. It will be a sad day when the west uses force on Iranians who are really held hostage by the hezbollahi party in Iran, namely by saudi arabia to get their way with the IRI, the day is coming closer sadly.

A $65M 'Parrot' Is Talking!
by Tavana on Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:22 PM PDTPer his own 'price tagged' of 65 millions dollars Irainas' stolen money this spoiled 'son' is again talking like a 'Persian Parrot' with an awful British accent! Somebody please teach this 'Analyzer Behind the Scene' that if it was not because of 'Mohammed Reza's Treachery' the place called 'Bahrain' still belonged to Iran & we would not have had allowed at any way for US to install a permanent military base there after he was kicked out of his throne! The unholly alliance of US-Saudis is all about keeping the US military/naval bases in the Persian Gulf & in the Arabian desert & not about Shiah's Khelafat in Muslims' world as the 'Birdy Boy' is repeating after himself!

by Tiger Lily on Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:24 PM PDTYou ought to know better: if there had been one to speak of, some half-baked gibberish Shariati garbage wouldn't have been moreover a catapulting catalyst of catastrophe,
but open, 'liberal'-'facilitated' discourse would have evolved into varying and various types of institutionalized 'buffer zones' for the people with full representation. Not one single hymnsheet-screeeching against another.
The fact that many lives were lost or pounded despite the dictatorial circumstances, creating at least some form of Civil Society and consequent 'disobedience', doesn't mean there was one to speak of. Afterall, most voices of dissent, were cut by the larynx. Some, quite literally.
And thousands are currently.
I did say.
Civil Society, properly defined as: an amalgamation of newspapers
by Mash Ghasem on Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:09 PM PDTCivic Associations, Political Parties, ....(all living social organisms other than the State) has been very prominent in Iranian society, let say since the Constitutional Revolution.
As Mashangi would go: I Dare Say:
Iranian Civil Society has been the most advanced (quantitaively, qualitatevly) in ME. A simple comaprison with other countries in the region will do. Compare each period for yourself and see the results: Constituional Revolution(eraly 1900's), Nationlaization Movement (1950's), Anti-Monarchy Revolution (1979).
It might seem as if what we lack is not the Civil Society but rather a proper understanding of it, in the Iranian context.
ampfsm. There is NO civil society in Iran*;
by Tiger Lily on Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:53 AM PDTthere hasn't been one within living memory.
*none to speak of anyway. That's what dictatorships do: make everyone screeeech from the same hymnsheet, which is one of the major reasons of the major corruptions.

A Lost Opportunity, but not all is lost. Well Said.
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Mon Oct 17, 2011 10:21 AM PDTWe must not allow this movement to become an orphaned one. Well Said.
Secular Democratic Forces Are working to bring an End to "The Hezbollahi Party In Iran" Well said
We need to engage civil society and democratic forces and not just try and have dialogue with the regime after 32 years of only having dialogue with the regime. Well said. The idea of speaking to the people of Iran and supporting them against this tyranny is the credible path.
If we are pursuing a legitmate outcome, let it be done at the hands of the people themselves, not by means of external military intervention for instance which will not work and not be credible. Well said. Iranians need help against tyranny imposed by USA, not struggle against another form of tyranny imposed by usa.
Problem is The USA/UK/EU love Islam for Iran, that is why they don't want to engage the people of Iran, its democratic forces or civil society. by using a carrot and stick approach focussed solely on working with the regime they can keep their #1 goal accomplished. Keeping Iran backwards and weak. This is the reason they brought this regime and love them so deeply.
